REVIEW of Easy to Execute Card Trickery 4 by J. Jack

Available for only $8 here: http://shufflethedeck.weebly.com/

This is a simply produced PDF with several great card routines from an upcoming author.
All the tricks are impromptu and commercial.

Here's a rundown of the tricks:

1. Impromptu Observation test with Aces – This is a reworking of Nick Trost's “Observation Test with Aces”. It is filled with magic, and I really like how it is completely impromptu. The ending is superb, and the spectators will not see it coming. In addition, it is streamlined and well structured. One of the best tricks in the Ebook! 9/10

2. Random Thot Expanded – This is a variation on an automatic card discovery by Karl Fulves. I really like how the shuffling appears to be very thorough, and the fact that it is super easy to do makes this effect very good. A commercial effect for sure! My only criticism is that the explanation could have been written a little better, in a more structured way. 8.5/10

3. B + D Revisited – B + D Revisited is a reworking of Kyle McNeill's (Me! Smile ) trick Box + Deck. I am honoured that he has worked on my plot, and I admit that is handling is fantastic, and I believe by him streamlining this effect, he has made it into a great worker. Possibly the best trick in the book! 9.5/10

4. Prediction and Change City – I think that the trick was a little to understand, but once I understood it, I realized the alternate endings given offered a lot to the trick. The Catch City ending and the Countdown ending can make this into a neat little effect. 7.5/10

5. No Turn Away Overtime – This is a really nice variation on David Acer's Overtime effect, because it gets rid of something Overtime needed – the name hints at it! However, at the same time, I am not too fond on one of the parts. Jack says it provides an extra effect, but I believe it hinders it, and is there for the working. I believe both balance out, therefore it is a nice equal alternative to Overtime. 8/10

6. From Nowhere to Here – This is a really nice version of Peter Duffie's From Nowhere effect. It has a lovely display of cards at the end, and some of the handling is done by the spectator. Although it reads heavy, try it out and I think you will like it. 8/10

Overall, this Ebook is very simple, but contains many great reworkings. If you like a simple, old-fashioned publication with many brilliant reworkings of some well – known tricks (and mine!), then I believe you will thoroughly enjoy this Ebook!

Recommended 9/10!

I have to say, I love Daid Acers Ovetime and think its just about perfect the way it is. What's wrong ith turning away? It makes perfect sense as you don't want to see the card. That's one trick I would mess with.

Kyle, your math is not accurate, it should be 8 of 10. Smile

To be fair, Tom misread the Overtime effect. The card is not left face down on top of the deck. It is turned face up. While I personally would not combine Overtime with another effect the way J. Jack does, I think his method of getting into the original Overtime trick is actually quite good.

Wondered what happened to Kyle. I assumed Kyle would have a successful career, entering magic early like most of us, however on the fast track so to speak, Any update on him?

A couple years ago he told me he was leaving magic to play baseball. He put out a lot stuff in his brief magic life. He even published a card trick of mine in his Cardshark magazine.

His pal John Gelasi seems to have moved on as well. Gelasi was referenced in John Bannon's Destination Zero.
