Paul Daniels ran his hand into a table saw and had to be rushed to hospital for repairs. No details on extent of damage.

Pete, I cannot tell you how many times I have heard that happening. Even the with all the safeties in place power saws are very dangerous. They are very unforgiving.

Hope all is well with Mr. Daniels. Get well soon.

Best wishes to Paul.

The experience here in my house is that there can be happy endings to these horrible incidents.

Not certain and not easy but certainly possible.

Thank you, Pete, for posting and the link to Mr. Daniels' blog.

I'm a professional piano player and teacher. I tell my students, "These fingers are STALLIONS."

Just as they are for magicians. I would SCREAM at a student, "Stay away from table saws!" HIRE someone if you need custom made.

I've had many an opportunity by others to place my fingers in precarious situations and ALWAYS walk away; not caring whether they understand or not.

PLEASE understand this is not an affront to or judgement of Paul Daniels. I think he's a great magician and kind human being. He was doing what he thought best and acted very responsiblyafter the accident. He was VERY fortunate the specialist could help him right away. I hope no fingers or parts of fingers were lost. Not even nerve damage.

PLEASE, guys, remember: "These fingers are STALLIONS."

I totally agree with Atom.

Some people think magicians act like George Costanza when he was a hand model in one of the Seinfeld episodes. I had the same comments with friends and coworker on the steps I take to protect my hands. If I damage my hands, I potentially endanger a way I make my living. This in turn can effect my family's welfare. When I load and unload my props, work on a prop or a new effect using hand tools, do work on my car etc. I use padded gloves that mechanics use while they are working. They only cost $25 and are well worth the cost.

I pray Mr. Daniels injuries are not severe and he heals quickly.
