Welcome to the Café Mark
My Vote would be for an Extractor from Alakazam. Beautiful little piece of work.

Welcome mark.
I think the extractor is up there, as would the triple threat by Todd lassen. I'm sure some smart a**e will chime in soon with "it's a thumb tip" or a "double backer" ![]() |

The reason I ask is because I'm at the phase of really wanting to build my collection up which is starting to drive the missus crazy but I cant help but keep asking questions about different tricks and that! |

Alright,
this is what I would recommend you to do: Get a good book about the "real secrets" of magic. I'm not talking about some funky sleight, but rather presentation, misdirection and other magical theories. Strong Magic by Darwin Ortiz is a good choice, if you're into close-up magic. If you aim to perform on stage / for larger audiences, Maxmimum Entertainment by Ken Weber is an awesome book as well. I know it's very tempting to buy the latest magic tricks and the latest gimmick, but this won't solve your problem. You probably already have more than enough magic to keep you busy for the next couple of months if not years. Pick three of your current tricks - your three strongest routines - and work really hard on them. Three great tricks.. that's all you need! Try to get those three tricks as perfect as possible - that includes not only the mere sleights, but everything that goes with it: patter, misdirection, audience management etc. etc. A couple of years ago, I was in a very similar situation like you ;-) Trust me - you can become a great magician without purchasing the latest, most expensive gimmicks and gaffs! I hope you got the point although my English is not the best, Florian P.S. Sorry for hijacking your thread. I just don't think your doing yourself a favour by looking for "the greates gimmick of all times"... |

I disagree with the German guy (runeflax), as you're in "street magic", it's easier for you to practice you trick.
Practice, practise, practise, improve you skill/sleight of hand and in the same time you'll find which pattern belong to you the best. You'll not find you pattern in strong magic or in any book. Go to watch professionnal magician at work, if you don't know where, ask around you, I'm sure lot of magicians work in rstaurant or in the street. Speak with them, listen them (not to much because some of them say ******** ![]()

There are way too many people with insane sleight of hand skills that know nothing about performing and presenting magic. Apart from this, that french mindreading pickpocket (parmenion) is right when he recommends you to go watch professional magicians do their work. -- Would anyone else like to chime in on the discussion? Otherwise, this will probably lead to another unnecessary discussion between me and my best friend Christophe... ;-) |

Google triple threat by Todd lassen. A bit pricey but amazing. If you are looking for things for a beginner and gimmicks are the way you wan to go. There are probably better ways to spend your money |
