This is how all of the ads on the internet read:
"Uncomplicated, direct magic with HIGH IMPACT. Two complete routines with all the handling, tips, patter and finesse. If you like his other works, you'll LOVE these two. And you'll perform them often." My question is: "What is it?" |

They are two card effects that you will do.
This man does a lot of work, you can tell by his routines, the real world stuff. I find myself doing two of his tricks more and more. I did the first trick in booklet "two for the show" at a banquet on Friday night that was the hit of the performance. I made a minor change to the working, but this trick got laughs and applause. I bought everything he had. Richard Lyn "Tricky Ricky" |

I don't think he was asking how good they were, he was asking what the effects were. None of the ads actually describe the effects. Could you do so please?

I advise not to becuase people may start replicating the tricks without purchasing them. I am sure there is a reason why Mr. Goldman himself wrote that specific ad.

I have a personal style and what was good for the people who gave testamonials may not be good for my performance style. Is it a packet trick? Is it a card revalation? Please narrow this down from: It's a card trick and it's good. When I buy magic, the least a seller can do is describe what the audience sees. Bill |

I would do My Linking Ring Routine and a Chen Lee Water Suspension

I may have not been clear what I meant. What I meant was that if Mr. Goldman wanted to describe both tricks in detail, he would have. If not, im not sure he may want others to do so. I was explaining what I thought his reasoning may be.
However, I think maybe what the tricks deal with would be ok.

Has there been a gap in some of these posts? Are we seriously talking about magic tricks that are for sale but the seller won't tell you the effects? That's absolutely preposterous.

Here's a brief, general run-down of the simple and effective presentations in this booklet:
#1. Out of Time, Out of Mind Spectator thinks of any hour of the day, and uses that to determine a card, while your back is turned. You remove your watch, the deck is shuffled, then you reveal his/her card and show that your watch is set to the hour they merely thought of. #2. Good Trick, Great Trick Spectator selects a card and returns it. He uses an imaginary die to determine another card which is turned over and that number is used to count down cards in the deck to discover ... the spectator's card. Brian |

Thanks to all that responded.
The descriptions are still a little vague, but I'll order one anyway. Based on Bill's other effects, if this lives up to his reputation it should be gold. |

Haha -- if I gave more detail, some knowledgeable magicians would be able to reconstruct the effects themselves. As I mentioned, they're very simple presentations. When I say 'determine a card', you'll have to use your imagination.
The effects themselves are as I described, but I'm not revealing methods. It's a $15 booklet, so what's there to lose? Bill has email on his site if you'd like to find out more. Brian |

It's a $15 booklet, so what's there to lose? $15. However, I have faith in Bill Goldman's work and I'm sure this two effects will be fantastic. Still strange that he wouldn't want to decribe them though.

Here's my take on it. I like both the effects, but had these have been released as just another couple of effects in the middle of a book, most would not give them a second look.
