At MATB2012, I requested of the contest director to have the judges sit at the table so they could see the magic close-up they way it was intended to be viewed.
However, my request was denied ... apparently the judges had clipboards and it would have been too much of a hassle for them to be moved, thus four non-judges were seated at the table. They of course blocked the judges view, and I was even docked pointed for it. I feel short changed. Is it really too much to ask to have the judges sit at the table so they can actually see the magic? My version of "close-up" has always been for people sitting at a table - I don't go to a restaurant and perform for the entire room at once, I perform table-by-table. -JoeJoe

I should point out how the room was setup: a rounded table for the performer to perform on ... then rows of chairs for people to watch. So it was more of a "parlor room" setting than an actual real "close-up setting".
Is this really an unreasonable request on my part?? -JoeJoe
