What do you think of me using the following picture on my website?: http://bloomfield-mi.patch.com/articles/......-7631233 (just the picture, not any of the text). The only bad thing I noticed is my back is turned. But it shows a lot of happy faces. Do you think it will be good to put as a first page on my website?
And look at the little girl in purple in the front row to my left. You think the picture is good to use because it is showing she is excited, or good not to use because it shows she is frightened? |

I'd not have any apprehension using the pic. I doubt that many people will pay close enough attention to see the girl you are talking about. The more significant thing is that you are entertaining a crowd of people. It's not ideal that all we see of you is your back, but sometimes you've just gotta use the best pics available to you until you get something better. That's my 2 cents.

I believe you should absolutely use this photo. It is too easy to simply do a photo shoot of you performing. But to see you in front of an audience is priceless. It is what a lot of agents, promoters, potential clients, etc, want to see. In my opinion it is completely fine to see your back. This photo is less about you and more about your audience.
I say use it right away!

I agree with the above statements. I didn't even notice the little girl in the purple until you pointed it out. Her expression could also be interpreted as excitement. I'd say it's a good picture to use.

Use the pic and use it now. this is a great shot for you. as mentioned above it is not always about you but rather your audience.

I would suggest putting an arrow pointing to the kid on the left that it wide mouthed with a "look how amazed this kid is" quote.

Yeah man, that is a killer photo...and in that environment you drew a crowd and kept them there and it shows...you'd be a fool not to use this pic...

Great photo.
Here is a little trick that I have done in the past to make sure that I got one of the best group photos that I could. It was taught to me from magicians who pass away many years ago. When even I do school shows and the lunch room is PACK with kids, I have a contest at the beginning of the show to see who can clap and yell the loudest between the girls and boys. First the girls yell and clap as hard as they can because they want to bet the boys. Now the boys do the same thing. For the end I have BOTH the girls and boys yell and clap at the same time to break the TIE breaker. As the boys and girls are yell and clapping, I step center and near the edge of the stage and open my arms as if I am receiving their energy. It is this moment that my buddy who is behind my back drop WALKS on stage and takes a PHOTO of me RECIEVEING and AWSOME applauses and kids YELLING . Try it! You will get some great photos! LOL Ray |

I am not as strong in the mentalism at this moment. Because of the bad economy, I have to stay with making the quickest and easiest money. Once my projects are launched, I will step back into mentalism.

I hear ya. I think 2012 will be better for us all. I saw some good improvement in December that was a pleasant surprise.
