David:

Is there an update on when the Pack-Kid Series of card tricks will be available? Thanks!

If I remember, David had a lot if problems getting them produced. Doubt if he wants to go that route again. Its a pity though because the two tricks he eventually sold were really effective for kids.

Thanks for asking.

I love the idea of my Pack-Kid Tricks theme. I am a big fan of packet tricks - card tricks with a small packet of cards. But Kids don't care about suits and backs. So I have created packet tricks with kid friendly illustrations on the cards, plots that relate to the life of a child, and lots of interaction. For example I changed Color Monte, a trick about gambling, to a story about a child who wants to eat a lot of ice cream and his dad who says he has to earn that right by playing a game. Kids love ice cream (who doesn't love ice cream?) and the kids completely relate to the story.

Well, US Playing Card told me the cards would be printed in 3 months of receiving the art work. It took them 12 months. I got stuck in the queue behind all the gaffed bicycle backs the company had just decided not to print and everything stopped on the presses. Well, It was a discouraging experience and I turned my attention to other things. I still love the idea. I will likely release the tricks again in the next few months, and I continue to create new tricks which havent been printed yet.

Stay tuned.

Might it work to release these as print-at-home items with instructions? We can get card stock through our home printers, resize if we want larger or smaller cards to fit our shows, and print them as needed. And you're not stuck waiting behind someone's no-rush order.

Just a thought.

Yes, but It is best to use playing cards, by USPC, for the handling. Cardboard from the printer does not handle the same way. Sleights are sleights, after all. You need the finish and action that real cards bring.
