I just got my copy of Fortune Sticks today in the mail along with 4 others. It is a really great trick, I am so happy with it. I love the mnemonic device that helps you remember the symbols. Ingenious.
I performed it for my wife a few times and she was freaking out. After about the 5th time she noticed what I was looking at and started figuring out the trick. She is good at that. I think some other fellows mentioned here that their wives are good at figuring out the tricks. Anyway, the Fortune Sticks did not make it into my magic case but into her pocket book. She is going to perform it at dinner tomorrow night with friends and with co-workers at a meeting later in the week. She has always enjoyed my magic, but never this seriously. Another Tenyo trick we set-up as hers to perform is Telestar. |

Question on performing Fortune Sticks.
To me there are two symbols that are not very clear as to what is the top of the symbol and what is the bottom. The symbols are the egg and the moon and stars. Does this become a problem with performing the trick if the audience member holds the symbol upside down? |

I started out loving this trick but the last two performances have not gone well.
I am having problems seeing the difference in the gimmicks. The light was decent and I even held the spectators hands and looked at the sticks right from above. I can't see how the Demo Video for the Elite Fortune sticks is accurate since they are performing the trick in a dark bar/restaurant from quite a distance away. Does anyone else have problems seeing the gimmick? Has anyone enhanced the gimmick to make it easier to read? I have some idea on how it could be read easier. AA |

I just looked at the Tenyo Elite Fortune sticks video and now I can see why the Magician was able to read the sticks so easily.
The bright camera lights. So as long as you take a camera crew with you you should be fine. ;-) AA |

Yes, I have trouble reading them too without VERY bright light. I own both the 'normal' as the Elite version - no difference

I just got mine from Hitomi. She is great, fast shipping nice packages, and I love the illusion.
