I heard he was working in a tire shop. How can that be?

Well, in his book Commercial Magic he wrote that he was no longer doing magic as a career and he was an auto mechanic. But like Pete said above, I'm sure he still performs.

I see J.C. quite a bit. He is ALWAYS working on magic effects. He may not be working as a magician in the career sense, but he is a working magician in the thinking sense. Smile

I think the demons of working in a bar got him int he 80's 90's. Hopefully he's doing better today. I love his magic and presentation. He seems like a great guy!!!

When we worked together at the Magic Island in Newport Beach in the 80's I had a 63 Corvette Split window. It wouldn't start one night after work and he was the one who helped me get it going.Always a great guy, always there to help out other magicians. I haven't seen him in years. I pray he's doing well.

I too saw him at International, he sure didn't resemble a corpse! By the way he is brilliant.
