I think it is a tough call either way...

Personally, I like the decision. If you're going to make me pay for the school, I'll worry about dressing my (would-be) kid; you just concern yourself with educating him.

I think we have more important things to worry about in this world rather than a boy wearing a "I ♥ boobies" bracelet.

The article says...
"L.G. believes that breast cancer can strike anyone, including his sister and mother, and that it is important to show support for the fight against breast cancer," the lawsuit says.

Anyone can get breast cancer, male and female.
Peter Criss, the drummer of KISS, he had breast cancer.

But any way...
It's lame to even make a deal about it.

I side the school. We waste precious time and attention fiddling with this kind of nonsense, and I don't for one second believe this child is simply trying to "support the fight". The fact that there is a disclaimer is more nonsense- is this a get-out-of-jail-free for anything? The big "ef" even? How about some learning as a distraction- there are only about 25 countries ahead of us in math, sciences, reading...

Interestingly, that's another reason I side against the school.

Yes, it is the school wasting time with it.

Its a bracelet, and the kids wear them (most of them) because it says "boobies", nothing for cancer.

I appreciate that's probably true in most cases, but it's not particularly relevant to my point of view.

We all heart boobies, last I checked. let the kid wear it
Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I've a many curious things to show when you are there.

Oh no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair
-can ne'er come down again.

Does it really matter WHY he's wearing it? If that's the debate, then they are aiming to punish him because of what he's thinking.

Also, boobies simply are not threatening.

I would imagine the issue here is where do you draw the line. What slogan can one wear on a T-shirt. or jacket etc?

I do not think he really has any true feelngs about breast cancer but thought this was a cool thing to do. How many here know of a 12 year old boy who is concerned about breast cancer, if no one in his family has been affected from this terrible disease?

Twelve year old boys just do not pick up a cause because they believe in it so strongly. If he had shown concerns in the past for brest cancer it would be a different story. There has been no indication that is the case.

I think this points out the miss placing of priorities. Schools would probably freak out over this, someone "saying" it, meanwhile students are constantly ACTING on it, which, although there is concern, no where near as much scene causing.

Well everyone knows that if you just take away condoms and sex education there will be no more pre-marital sex. That's a scientogific fact.

The school was right in telling the boy to turn it inside out.
His mother made a poor decision.
