Apparently my last post was removed because it was deemed advertising. I have offered to make a donation to the Café since I value it and I think it is fair to support. I was told it is fine to announce a new product. So anyone interested in my limited edition Lottery ACAAN should PM me and I will be happy to answer questions. Thanks

Are you allowed to post the description of this again or is that disallowed? I PM'd you.

The performer never touches the cards again. The spectator then selects a number between 1 and 52 and a playing card through the fairest way possible. The spectator opens the deck of cards and counts down to his chosen number and the card is there. I have just about every ACCAN and get the best responses from this one. Ironically, it is the easiest with no sleight of hand or memory work. If you want to know more, PM me. |

Hi All
Just thought I would chime in here, Greg sent me a rough draft of this way back when the initial thought was busy clambering around inside his brain. The thinking behind this is GENIUS, very clever and the sort of thing people would be talking about after the night’s events.  The plot and method is carefully routined and explained in great detail.  This is definitely the sort of thing I would come to expect from Greg after his first piece of madness PIN ATTACK, which I thought was such a great devious way or revealing a pin number…..  Well done Greg, shame you had to share this…. I thought I would be the only one other than you performing this…..  All the best  R |

Posted: Feb 11, 2012 9:16am Just a couple a comments regarding questions I have been receiving about my ACAAN effect--It will be released no later than Feb 22 (moved up from March 1). Regarding inquiries on how I got the price and why I limited the number of copies to 15. I love this effect and struggled with releasing one of my best secrets (a completely hands off ACAAN). Putting a higher price tag on it and limiting the number of copies sold was a compromise that in my opinion keeps it "underground" but allows me to share it. I have sold over half the copies. Any questions, please pm me. Thanks Greg |

Here is an update for those asking about this effect 1) it will be released on Feb 22 2) I do have a few copies left (after 15 I am not selling any for a minimum of one year 3) and yes, it all happens in the spectators hands. Thanks
Greg Posted: Feb 18, 2012 4:36pm Putting finishing touches on it this weekend. Going out next week. Thanks for your patience. Just 3 left. Thanks Greg |

Brehaut was kind enough to send the manuscript to everybody today!
I have to admit I am a little bit disappointed with the method, which I find bold and heavy. I won't say a lot to not reveal too much about the effect and the selection (of the card and the number) process. I also find the price to be quite high for this 3 pages pdf. I would have expected a fairer price, although I understand brehaut's motivation to keep it underground and secret. For me, ACAAN is just one deck of cards (like in John Born's method for instance), and not "something" else. And you, what do you think of it?

In my personal opinion, the process is a bit convoluted and more cumbersome than I was hoping, for what is a simple effect in the eyes of a spectator: any card at any number. But if you apply this to a different presentation entirely, and not limit yourself to merely ACAAN, you can achieve a much greater effect.

I would be interested to hear from the other buyers (they should be around 10) and their opinion on this release.

I also bought Gregs ACAAN version and somehow it's the same for me. I was not looking for the grail but for something that is more an ACAAN.
For the effect: The Lottery ACAAN is - in my opinion - more a MCAMN (MyCardAtMyNumber) effect. And therefore I am a little bit disappointed too. Because somehow you are a little bit "limited" to the lottery scenario or any other scenario to introduce (as Dorian said) this "something" to the spectator. Some time ago there was an ACAAN (can't remember the name and the author right now) which uses a cellphone. For me this method to force the number was very obvious. And therefore (in my opinion) this is also NO "ACAAN" effect. And I have the same issue with the Lottery ACAAN. But that's only my personal opinion. For the principle/method: I think it is a nice principle and I will give it a try soon. Let's see if it works in real life situations. For the price: Somehow I also feel it overpriced (compared to other effects and methods on the market). I understand that Greg wants to keep it underground and this is absolutely okay. But for this price and relating to the ad my expectation was very high. Final words: And that's the main problem. Perhaps the price is "correct" and the method is clever. Perhaps the problem is that my expectation was set to high. I don't know. But I am glad that the others are also a little bit (well let's say) "unhappy"! But perhaps we should discuss this with Greg directly via PM before we start a "disussion" with all those people who only can speculate about this effect. What do you think? |

Let me address a few issues raised. Also let me preface it by saying everyone has a right to their opinion. Doesn't mean its right, but its their opinion (just like mine is not necessarily right). Also, I thank everyone for not discussing the presentation and method to keep this effect underground.
The main thing I am seeing is that a couple people are looking at this effect in a different way than I am. That to me is why there is a difference in opinion. First--price. If you look at the price and say other effects are less, you get a short pdf, etc. you may come to the opinion that it is overpriced. On the other hand, I set the price at $75 to keep this effect mostly underground. You are paying for the secret and for exclusivity. For $75 you are getting something that very few other people will have. It is something different and some people rather be one of the few to have a secret as opposed to everyone and their brother getting the secret for $19.99. Second--There is mention about the method being bold and comparing it to Born's method. If you are coming from a place that wants a spectator to simply say a number and card, you never touch the cards, and works 100% of time---yes you will be disappointed. However, I come from an opinion that I have seen the reactions first hand---they are some of my best. I believe the method of selecting the numer and card in the spectator's mind could not be fairer. I have never had anyone question it. The most important thing in mentalism and magic is what the spectator thinks--nothing else. From that prespective this effect is one of my favorite Third--Again Born's method is mentioned. There is a trade off here. Born requires you to touch the deck and it does take some skill. There are plenty of people who will not perform Born's method because they just are too nervous of screwing up. My method takes no sleight of hand at all. That is a trade off. Also, like all my effects, I try to have everything be done in the spectator's hands. This is accomplished here. And my method works 100% of the time. I released this hoping to share it with just a few people. If they perform it, I think they will see they have an effect that amazes and works 100% of the time. Thanks Greg |
