Happy to contribute some extra video to DDD:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5o3xD7EGvs You can see a couple different applications here, all super-close up. This is a really good gimmick. Just don't spend it. |

I really like the looks of this, my one hang up is in regards to the coin thru silk (or shirt); has anyone come up with a good justification as to why you use TWO coins but only do anything with one of them? I mean, obviously it's necessary from a methodological standpoint, but is there a rationale given presentationally?

How long does it take to reset?
Also this will be very expensive if accidentally spent or lost. Any top on how to avoid that costly mistake? |

Are these available in eagle backs or only states?
I prefer eagles so it will match my other quarter gaffs, also much easier to get dupes. I really hate the whole concept of these "themed" quarters, matching gaffs used to be so easy and you could always use borrowed coins too without problem. I've been called out trying to mix eagles and states, even when only showing the heads side. Not all the time but often enough to make me leery. Manufacturers should adopt the same philosophy as when producing card gaffs in both red and blue. |

Can spectators examine both coins simultaneously without feeling the magnetic force of the coins?

Fantastic! These coins are incredibly well-made...No junk drawer for this purchase. I cannot wait to perform this little gem.

I may have missed it, but are there more routines to be done with this? Do they lend themselves to longer-phase, three or four coin routines? Or is it strictly related to just passing through material?

Nathan, I could be wrong but I doubt it because the coin "locks". Thus, it could not be used as a typical Flipper.

Can you get into the get ready say during a coins across routine?

@Nathan: Another routine was included with the original DD - Coin through card into a glass. Requires a shimmed card. Not sure why Mark omitted it in the Deluxe version.
@music: No, not really. I imagine you could start a Coins Across routine with the flipper already open and then close it during the routine, but you won't be able to open the flipper during the routine. Or at least I can't. Jim |

I'm sure there is probably a way to open it during a routine if you work out a handling for it, but it would be more hassle in this context than a regular flipper. So unless you have a good reason to use this one it would make more sense to use a regular flipper in most cases.
Just to save money and get double duty from this prop would be more trouble than its worth IMO. |
