She was one of best I ever heard and I just don't understand why so many of these great talented people seem to throw their lives away.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Very simple; they're surrounded by enablers who keep pushing them to their limits, keep them on the road away from their families, providing anythine they want or need, including drugs, all in search of maximizing the revenues for themselves. It isn't the first and it won't be the last. Elvis is a classic example as well. I'd bet Whitney would have been much happier home with her family most of the time. But they kept pushing her. God knows she didn't need the money; the enablers did.
What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about? Smile

My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums.

While every case is different, my vote is, for the most part, the cause & effect are switched. It's disproportionately those with the most personal demons who throw theirselves into the arts, particularly, with that singleminded drive that is usually required to be larger than life.

Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley.

Yes, agreed. Sad really. Smile

However, I know of many successful entertainers who are drug free. They're the minority though.
