Dual

I like Rus like Do As I Do effects. Rus has come up with a great coincidence effect from genuine spectator shuffled deck as others have noted. One of the problems I had to be honest was the first time I tried it with one brand of cards it did not work the way it was suppose to. I thought as someone else has mention it may have been the condition of the deck. I then tried it with a brand new pack and it did not work so I tried it with a different brand of cards and it worked like a charm. One of the moves as someone noted is something that we all have in our arsenal. Now, one of the moves may scare some as the move is done while the spectators are watching but with proper handling they will not suspect anything. There is a way around it but the drawback is that you have to shuffle the deck versus the spectator but once you finish shuffling you go right into the effect. Rus does give other ideas on how to present the trick. I personally would use it as a straight concidence effect. Overall, I like it and do recommend that you pick it up and try it.

Thanks magico

Glad you like the effect and routines included.

Blackjacked is a personal favourite of mine.

All the best and thanks again

I love "DO AS I DO" effects. But I haven't come across that many good effects.
A few weeks ago I had the chance to take a look at DUAL, the manuscript by Rus Andrews. It is such an "Do As I Do" effect and I must say I really like it.

I don't want to go into details. I just want to say: Thanks Rus, for sharing this effect. It is nice, it is simple, it is direct and it hits!

After reading "Numbers", "Flatline Control" and now "Dual" I just want to make a simple and bold statement:

"BOLD, BOLDER, RUS!"

Keep up that good work man! Smile

Oz Pearlman on his DVD Stealing Pips has a routine called Perfecto which sounds similar to this effect.

A spectator flips over a random card behind their back without looking. After spreading out the cards you reveal you have predicted their card.
I C 3 on the same DVD also uses the same concept.

What I'm wondering is if this is the same idea? (using a different presentation?) or the methodology is entirely different?

Thanks!

Hey, I soon will get Stealing Pips (have ordered it some days ago) and then I can tell the difference (or similarity) between those two effects.

It is ENTIRELY different. This version can be spread in the hands or the table.

Also this can be done with a borrowed deck which you cannot do with Oz's Perfecto. The method is totally different and this one uses only one deck.

Perfecto can be done with a borrowed deck. Just need to do a little move. I could replicate some of the effects with this method but it wouldn't be very clean at the end, that's all.

Anyway thanks for clarifying and this sounds like a winner, probably have to get it now Smile
