I love the effect, but I wanna tel you, I had the HARDEST time finding a torch lighter that didn't burn out after just a few uses. I spent money on Ebay and in the local tobacco store, and finally found someone here on the Café who sold me a high quality lighter.
The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.

Daffy I did too and went with a regular lighter. I found to lay fire is fire so the effect still slayed... Nothing feels gimmicky, especially if after I check I cant find my lighter and borrow one... More misdirection and time lapse.

This is a great effect and has become my go-to "torn and restored card" effect. I usually do it as part of a longer routine where I tear up and restore the card a couple of times using different techniques. I finish off with torched and restored as it involves fire and can be done with one side of the card signed (or one side signed by a spectator, the other by me!). Great effect and relatively easy to do.
