I've done this live now it goes down well with my material, but far better if I use the table cloth or napkin.
I'm not confident enough yet to use a shirt etc, maybe with time?

So could you walk up to a table where the table cloth is hanging down nearly to the floor, as in most banquet situations and perform this using one corner of the table cloth with all the crockery etc remaining on the table and the spectators seated around it?

Yes that's what I have been doing, if the cloth was too short I used a napkin.
You have to test it before hand to make sure the material won't damage it only tales a few seconds and you know if its alright to use. I found I had to use a piece of paper larger than a bill to do this as they are a lot lower to the cloth when seated, this provides more cover for the final move required.

Do any of the other owners here notice that's it's nigh impossible to get a 100% perfect restoration? There is always a tiny bit of tell remaining. Let me know, am I doing something wrong?

PM sent.
Simple solution here it just a matter of understanding how it works. This is one of the best things I have bought in a long time. I'm going to have to get Double Deception 2 to go with it.

Thanks Mark, your advice has really helped. Maybe Richard could include your ideas in the next printing? I actually think you made some very important points about the handling which, until that point, were missing for me.
Thanks again

Quick question, is it possible to perform this without the blade coming through closed fingers, so you can see it piercing the note?
|
|||||||||
Saturn UK Inner circle 2658 Posts |
Yes, you can spread them as far as you wish all you are doing is holding the note down so the knife can go through it.
You can remove the hand altogether once its through, and even remove the note showing the blade through the material.

I've found that with a fine touch I can pass it through the hand and they don't feel a thing.
I even fooled myself with this one! DD PS. I was not able to remove the hand as the previous poster suggested. But I'll get there |

Does the knife have any functioning utilities like a swiss army knife?

Thanks Mark & Don, that's good to know. It sounds like the video doesn't quite show this at its best. Will certainly look into ordering.
Has anyone used this on stage, or is it too small? |

Has anyone received the updated handling via email yet? One of Osterlind's team pm'd me about it a month ago.

I have sold mine, it just wasn't suitable for the material I had in mind.

The method was not what I was expecting, its far better. I think I'll use a handkercheif for this. It works brilliantly it must be the best version of this effect, I can't see how you could improve it? |
