I see.
What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about?
My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums. |

I was only ever talking about Nazis, but when I started to type my initial response as "the N word," I realized that the phrase doesn't typically apply to Nazis. So instead, I wrote "the other 'N' word" to mean "Nazi."
So what I mean in the first place was, not only is "feminazi" misapplied (Landmark's point) when not talking about an actual female Nazi, but so too are all uses of "Nazi" misapplied when not talking about actual Nazis.

I was actually waiting to hear from obowolfXXX...he made the comment, not you. How do you know what he was thinking? Oh, I get it, you're a mindreader!

We're on a wavelength. We might have to bust out a 2-person mindreading act one day. We'd be lacking the traditional "hot chick," but our theme and set music would be awesome.

Thanks. I really was confused on that point and went to a direction I shouldn't have. I don't play bridge but as a regular poker player, I agree with you completely.

The only difference is that you are supposed to play partners in bridge. In poker it's considered cheating.
Many years ago I was playing "partner poker" at a seven card stud table in a saloon in Deadwood, SD. It was during the annual Sturgis motorcycle gathering. I was dressed like a typical tourist; my partner was pure biker. No one would have imagined we even knew each other, let alone that we were old friends and partners. We had a series of signals so that we could bet up the highest hand between us. He scratched his chin, which signaled to me that he was looking at a full house. I stayed in the hand long enough to bump up the betting and then folded. He then proceed to lose the hand when he turned over two pair. We lost a bundle. Later, back at our campsite, I asked him why he signaled a full house when he only had two pair. He looked at me puzzled and said he only stayed in because I was betting up the hand. "You scratched your chin!" I said. "That meant you had a full house!" He sheepishly replied, "Ah, that was only 'cause my beard itched." So I guess it's true in poker, too. What's clear from one side of the table isn't always as clear from the other. [I have long since reformed and no longer engage in "advantage play." Neither does Doctor Crow.] |

I discovered that if you read the title of a thread, and then read the most recent posts first, you will often be lost/disappointed. I was hoping for witty banter regarding Betty White, and instead I'm reading about Nazis and bridge. No wonder Betty stopped posting here.
