It is a Michael Ammar effect, sort of, it is no longer available from him. He used the Swedish Reel and one his ladies head scarves he use to sell.
Although the effect is an old standard it magic, but you would have to purchase everything separately. El Duco family seems to not want to send the reels to the US any longer, this I found from one of the comments on the El Duco site when a member tried to order over the internet. Ammar simply applied the more commonly known "silk thru mic-stand" effect to a coffee mug. It is the same trick, done close up. If you familiarize yourself with older routine, you will understand Ammar's adaptation. Any reasonable reel should work. I use the Kirkendall, which is less expensive and smaller than the Swedish reel that Ammar was selling. |
