Is Mirror Mate really worth around $100?
I paid $7.95 for one from Magic Legends in 2003. Mine was new but when I opened it, the mirror on the plain side had like an inclusion or blur in it. I know it is not a real mirror, but is anyone else's mirrors not so perfect? |

No problems on mine. Mirror Mate gained a whole new following & elevated esteem due to an excellent performance video that surfaced recently. Maybe on Stereo's blog. If not, try a search for it. Worth the effort as the performance goes to places rarely seen. This is why it gets a 10 rating on the blog. Stereo might remember where the video is located if it is not on his blog. Shoot him a PM if you need help. $100 seems high thou. I'd have guesstimated $50.

EBay historical data (outliers aside) for this trick have shown multiple $100+ closings. This doesn't mean it's worth $100 or more, it means like anything not seen frequently on eBay, perceived rarity, popularity, and emotions can drive prices up. Start putting tons of Mirror Mates on eBay and I assure you the average closing and hi and low outliers will adjust accordingly.

In fact this video is not avaible anywhere sorry. But it's the performance of Japanese magician in TV show with the japan Mirror Mate with Mickey and the result is just fabulous. I have ask to Magic Patagonia to make one video with the routine of the magician on the video but for the moment I think Magic Patagonia did not have time or inclination to reproduce this great performance. There is no video avaible about Mirror Mate and I think it's an error because this trick deserves more enthusiasm. Unfortunately I did not have permission to post this video because copyright does not allow this.

Finally no need to Magic Patagonia to do the video because someone have allready do one and I have found it thanks to Magico Japan, you can see it now :
http://tenyo-magic.blogspot.com/2010/05/......ate.html For infomation it's Akira Fujii's own routine. He is very famous magician in Japan and the fabulous routine he has imagined for "Mirror Mate" proves his great talent. |

Not sure if the Mickey or Pooh versions are available. Never have collected the Disney stuff. Some guys use an actual knight piece from chess sets with the original version of Mirror Mate.
