There is a routine where you can leave them with the coin trapped in the coin holder. There are other routines where you can't. But either way, you end every routine clean. Everything is examinable. There's nothing to find.
BTW, I meant to mention this in a couple of posts above. Yes, I do put the coin holder in my pocket and then take it out again in the main routine on the trailer. But I do not switch out the coin holder. It's the same one that's examined before hand. I only put it back into my pocket for convenience. But if you want, you can leave it out. Magicians performing for other magicians might want to do this but for lay people, I don't care.

Cameron-
Do you credit any other prior effects for this release? Also, can you provide a sense for the difficulty involved? This effect really looks really visual - like it a lot.

PMed you about the credits. As far as difficulty, easy. Only very basic coin skill requires. Not knuckle busting at all.

Looks super visual like the coin effect on your Exchange Rate DVD- when the coin turns into a bill! Why release through Papercrane and not Big Blind Media? Not that it really matters, just curious.

Well, first of all, Owen hates coin magic... Kidding. Sort of.
I occasionally work with different companies. So far I've released effects with Full52, Big Blind Media, Fun Inc, Paper Crane, Colombini Magic and Elmwood Magic. Sometimes a project will be suited to one company over another. Just depends on the release.

Guys, just got on EBay. You can get 100 coin holders for as low as $3.00!
The cool thing is, there are. A couple. Of routines on the DVD which don't destroy the coin holders at all so you can use them over and over again.

Cameron, could I borrow a coin, have it signed appear in the holder visually then give it back for them to keep?
Please say I can...... |

David, hmmm. Sorry about that. I don't know about foreign coin holders. I wonder if a US coin holder for quarters would work with one of your coins over there? Seems to me one of them is similar in size to a US quarter. 20 p, maybe?
No, you cannot hand out the coin holder with a spectator signed coin still inside of it. However, there are other options. For some routines, you can hand the holder out with the coin sealed inside and the coin is marked, just not signed. That's all I'll say about that.

The promo mentions giving the spectator a unique souvenir. But I take it the coin holder has to be torn open. What's the give-away? Do you just restaple the coin holder for handout?
(Also, I assume I don't need to be in a rollerskating rink to perform it?) |

One of the things that a lot of magicians don't seem to understand is that 'non magicians' EXPECT 'magic folks' to use odd stuff. If that wasn't so the entire field of Bizzare Magic would cease to be viable. It's NOT the weirdness of the objects used that's the problem. It's having a sufficient reason for using it. Mr. Francis has a fine one: Most folks know about coin holders. Those that don't will see instantly that what is shown really could only function in the way described: It holds coins. Very, very cool concept. Best,

Anyone found a source in the UK that sells the coin holders? I'm pretty sure our 10 pence coins are very similar to a US Quarter.

You don't want people behind you. But if you hold the holder at chest level, they won't be able to see anything.
Writeall, there is a version where you can hand the spectator the holder with the coin trapped inside. In other cases, you would tear it open or punch it through. But they can certainly keep the holder. There's also a version where the coin appears inside the holder, disappears and winds up in your pocket.
