It's amazing...I've seen this Ricky Jay routine on Youtube before, but whenever I come across it, it just makes my day. What a great presentation. If you haven't seen, check it out...definitely worth the time. http://www.youtube.com/embed/Hgm4wZCACYg
Looks like his main working set in the routine is a "combo" set...but I've never seen any such sets that are Paul Fox style. I wonder if they are custom made or custom modified? Thoughts? |

That is a fantastic presentation. I know somewhere there was a discussion about Ricky's cups.. once again maybe Pete Biro or
Bill Palmer could help out. |

It would be interesting to know about Ricky's cups, just because I haven't seen a Paul Fox combo set--or something that resembles that. Perhaps Bill will know--

Tom,
That guy in the video you posted is not in the same league as the other routines under discussion. He's also quite fat. Thanks dude, KG |

Tom, Thanks for the Bebel vid, that was inspiring for sure. Bebel's moves are so smooth, fluid, and quick. Very fun to watch.
That Fun Shop vid just straight up sucks. It's def not a good example of C/B, I'd place that vid in the category of how not to perform. That dude is annoying as all h*ll, and as Mr Kent said... This guy in the video you posted is no where in the same league as the other routines under discussion. |

Kent,
That's a great routine...and it definitely deserves a lot of credit. Sent you an e-mail and will PM you about it as well. Very creative. And Octopus S, I hope that you are joking... |

Ocotopot,
I loved your response. I'm pretty sure you simply get my addled sense of humor. Doctor Schweid, I found your email and responded. I'm glad you like the routine. It is certainly the best routine I know how to do. I learned more about magic through the process of coming up with the trick than I even know how to express. I'm always pleased when others see the spark that lights up my magical life. Kent |

Having worked on Kent's routine for a good year now, I must say it has taught ME a lot about the cups and balls as well. It shows how creative we can get when so many routines are like carbon copies of one another in moves, patter, gags, etc. It gave me a greater appreciation of my favorite trick. It's truly a thing of beauty, incredibly magical and SO fun to perform. I can't wait to start passing it off as my own and taking all the credit.

Okay, here's another one...love Ammar's new spin on this classic. Very different than other routines I've seen him do!

So, I'm feeling nostalgic. I have never seen this clip before, but apparently it comes from a 1939 film called "Dark Magic". Now, interestingly enough...watch the finish, very Vernon"esque" if you ask me! Note, the haziness of the film goes away after a few seconds. Anyone know the history of this film, or performer?
