I was watching the new Jay Sankey dvd "No Card Tricks" and right at the end of the dvd, it showed a preview of the newest dvd by Sankey called "3 Ring Circus."

Effect: It's a breathtaking linking ring routine with ORDINARY OBJECTS that can be EXAMINED before and after.

The 8 Bonus routines are:

*Dowsing: Jay's IMPROMPTU version of the classic Paul Curry effect.

*Economic Risks: The mentalist puts his money where his mouth is.

*Hot Date: The coin transpo you can do anytime, anywhere.

*Sudden Triumph: Think "Dai Vernon as a hired assassin."

*Kung Fu Coin Change:A 3-phase routine full of new moves!

*Collateral Damage: Deadly easy vanish & appearance of a signed bill!

*Menage a Trois: An ingenious mental sandwich effect!

*Yes & No: Jay could've sold this killer card effect as a separate item!

Let me know what you guys think of it!

I love Jay's work, so I'll order when it's available.

Penguin seeems like a good company. Sankey chose them, so how can we go wrong?

3 Ring routine on this DVD is alone worth the price as it fooled me badly when I watched it performed the first time, and its very practical to carry with you anywhere.

Color me fooled and impressed. But does anyone else think the asking price is a little steep? I get the feeling that if it were being sold through more than one dealer, it wouldn't have such a premium pricetag. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come from Jay's exclusive deal with Penguin.

Every problem contains the seeds of its own solution. Unfortunately every problem also contains the seeds of an infinite number of non-solutions, so that first part really isn't super helpful.

Man I just say the demo too...it was figgen AMAZING!!! I too have the sense of monopoly since it is only one DVD sold only on penguin with a pretty hefty price tag..but it will probably make its way to my collection very soon Smile

Also...for anyone who has this...are the rings really examinable meaning NO SWITCH...I can't wait to see a review!

I belive the set of ninja rings and video total up to about 40 dollars as well. With sankey you get the ring routine, plus several others. The price is a little steep I agree, but by no means outrageous.

If you really get a couple good effects on it it will be worth it. Looked pretty good to me.

Ya I can't wait to get this either. I want to wait for some reviews though.

It's true the price is a little steep. But you also get the Rings plus the Bonus Effects. I would compare it to his other, "No Card Tricks" DVD, which also has a very good routine in it called Quest For Fire and the necessay props come with it as well.

Also, I think this is more portable and impromptu than the Ninja and McAbbe Rings. Right?

Ivan

Well let's think about the price a second. $40 for the DVD minus the 10% off magicsmith code makes it $36. Magic DVDs retail at $35, and it would cost you more than a dollar to construct the rings (if there is a key ring or not, I do not know since I don't own it).

So in reality, the price seems very fair since there is also free shipping anywhere in the US. Don't forget about the rings that come with it Smile .

Just my perspective of the price,

Evan

$40 isn't steep for an effect that you use. I would pay that for a simple card trick if it's something I'll USE. This looks very good and the props are small and can be examined. I think he'll do very well with this.

Now that I realize it comes with props as well as the DVD, I retract my complaint about the price.
