SirBrad, you're welcome to think what you will. Clearly no amount of discussion in this thread or any other will sway the beliefs that you've formed.
I guess we'll have to take careful note next time you start a thread on a product, because obviously you will have some sort of vested interest in it.

I don't have vested intrest in any product, and if I did I would not lie about and have others post random threads to start discussion. Like I said I have been around awhile, and around here a long while and have seen this happen millions of times. You don't know anything about me or my decision making. Regardless of your veiled marketing attempts I would still be curious to see the effect the way the real world will see it, not how Youtube sees it from one camera angle. If you are going to advertise your product be a man and do it yourself, not resort to contacting affiliate members, coincidently; to start a discussion. Oh wait that is right, you can't.
"Finally, those individuals who come to this forum expecting to receive free advertising, think again. Obvious commercial posts (e.g, Now taking pre-orders, Our new product will ship on ..., We are offering a special if you order now, I accept PayPal, etc) will be removed and the offending member may be banned at the descretion of management. You have been warned." I don't believe for a second that you did not know GDW was posting this, or that you did not encourage it. This method of rogue advertising goes on here daily, which is nothing more than using loopholes to get around the rules. But just to prove you wrong in your assumption that my mind is set, I will still take a look at the trailer if it watchable and actually shows what the real world sees, not Youtube magicians.

I sure hope it's a trick where you get a spectator to pick a card from a deck, and then you guess which one it was somehow!

Sirbrad, you really seem to have a bone to pick, and made some assumptions here. The only person that I was ever knowingly in contact with at Blue Crown before this thread was Alex. Would you like to see the PMs between Kevin and myself that happened after I "hinted" that I was affiliated where he introduced himself to me? He honestly made no connection between my user name and myself, nor had we spoken before, at least not that I am aware of.
Also, why would I need to come on here to "sneakily" promote the upcoming release? Ben Train came on the Café to directly, and shamelessly promote himself and his releases. Shame on you Ben.

SirBrad, threads get started by all kinds of people. Sometimes I start threads, sometimes Alex (the owner of the company) starts them. Most often it's a fan of the company who follows us on Facebook/YouTube/email. Sometimes it's one of our artists or friends. We don't try to hide anyone, we don't ask for our friends to start threads. We've always taken an approach of full disclosure. We'd actually prefer it if people post their involvement/relationship with the company up front so that people know what they're getting.
I've been a member (and I believe a respected one) here for many years, and I really don't have anything to gain by pretending not to know someone. I've never met GDW in person, and as I mentioned earlier (without any prompting from anyone) I didn't realize who he was until after my first post. Nobody is trying to hide the fact that he has an upcoming product. I truly thought he was just a regular Café member who happens to follow our products, as there are several folks like that out there. But I guess you'll just have to take my word for that, not sure what I can do to convince you otherwise. GDW has not seen anything regarding the transpo other that what the rest of the public has seen, so I believe he's truly curious about it. I'm first and foremost a magic consumer. I was one long before I began producing magic for sale, and will continue to be long after I stop. I was a member here for years before I even began to think about producing magic, and I have always been honest with all of my posts. Magic is a very small community, and it's easy to see where the connections are. There's no reason to try to be sneaky and ask for people to shill for us. A thread will get started one way or another, and believe it or not, most magic business does not come from a single forum thread. I do hope you find the full previews of our upcoming releases to be interesting and worth your time. Kevin

Is it just me or is it getting heated in this joint!
I have three projects out with The Blue Crown. For all of them they released a teaser, as a way of announcing the products release and to excite people. I hated them. Why show something that doesn't show anything? But then I recieved lots of positive feedback about them- people WERE excited to get a sneak peek on upcoming projects, almost like seeing set photos of yet-to-be-released feature films. So for all my misgivings, it works. And it makes people happy. So I have no problem with them. If you find them boring, irratating, or pointless... just don't watch anything that says "teaser" in the title. My understanding is the actual trailer for any teaser TBC releases comes only a few days later. I haven't seen the Mirror Transpo but I have seen the other two releases. I've also seen Glenn's work. It looks incredible. When the full trailer comes out people will be happy. Including me. Ben

So I guess out of 50,200 members here at the Café the one who posted about this effect just coincidently was an affiliate for TBC right? I guess some people should play the lottery. I don't really care anyway because I know it was set up. But the teaser was still a waste of time and tells us nothing.

Brad, re read the thread. No one was trying to deceive anyone. Kevin posted a mistake, and I IMMEDIATELY corrected him. How can you think that was a fluke that was the result of not properly planning to scam the Café by having a "friend" of TBC post about this?
It would almost make sense if this was some first release, and no one posts about Blue Crown, but there have been threads started by all sorts of people here about Blue Crown. Also, barring that, they could have just had Ben shamelessly post away

Just to clarify, by imdeiately, I meant as soon as I read Kevin's post.
And speaking of Ben's shameless self promotion: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArpplZvpjV0&hd=1 Ben, get off my account.

I personally like Blue Crown and some of their products, great videos, nice cards, in general the magicians even being young, are well presented with nice attires and good language, I even contacted Ben Train after I bought one of his products and he was polite and answered my questions.
I think teaser or advances or ok as a way to be informed of what is coming, that's all. Also I am not sure GDW came with a hidden agenda, but even if he would, he is just informing us of a new product. Take it or leave it. There are worst examples at thecafe of pushing products that a link to youtube I don't have an affiliation with Blue Crown but I am a satisfied customer. Pablo |

I fell Kevin and GDW have acted like class acts. I love that Kevin didn't even know that GDW had a release coming out with with Blue Crown and GDW was upfront with us all. Quite refreshing.

Whatever, I still think you had your own agenda because you will be releasing an effect through them later. But I will stick look at the official trailer regardless as I am used to seeing affialiates post here and companies being completely surprised by the coincidence. I really don't care, I just think it is veiled advertising and using loopholes to get around the Café rules. Which are kinda silly anyway, as it would make sense for someone to promote their own work as opposed to having secret affilate friends do it. I just don't like when people have to hide and lie about it, and act like they like a product from a company just because they work for them. If they work for the company they have little credibility to me and will not be posting an honest opinion about the product. So that is why they try to hide their vested interest.
