A Café search came up zilch. Is this new?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggY13phphDM Not a great card handler, the "change" Looked good. "The Hawk" principle, maybe? _________________ Effect: A freely selected and signed card is returned to the deck. The magician puts two rubber bands around the deck, one along its length and one across. The magician hold the deck so the bottom card (not the chosen one) is visible. The visible card suddenly changes to the chosen and signed card! without any cover. A totally visual change! Can be done as a trick on its own, or used as a final grand climax to your favorite ambitious card routine. Invented by Astor. Includes rubber bands, gimmick and instructional DVD. |

I just got this after seeing a better demo on Youtube I think by Cameron Francis not sure, and Geek Magic did one. I love the effect. Sometimes not being great card handler makes a trick look more "magical" as opposed to looking skilled. I like to mix it up and usually I am a very technical card handler, or "slight geek", "move monkey" etc. But sometimes I try to be sloppy on purpose or not look too skillful so that the audience does not think I am just using "quick hands."
The great trouble with magicians is the fact that they believe when they have bought a certain trick or piece of apparatus, and know the method or procedure, that they are full-fledged mystifiers. -- Harry Houdini

That is the performance I saw, also another method which I don't think is as strong as they audience might think you just "flipped it" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpbmxLiVi......eo_title I have the Hawk 2.0 but have not even looked at it so I can't say for sure if they are the same principle.
