I'm trying to recall and find the effect in which, (I think this is what happens) a page from a paperback book is selected, removed from the book and burned. Later, that page is restored back into the book, though now shinged. There may have been a book test portion of the routine, but that may just be a faulty memory on my part.
The effect is at least 20 years old and may have had "resurrection" as part of its title. The gimmick, again if I remember correctly, utilized a large card inserted into the fore edge of the book on which the force page was taped. If you can recall the name of the effect and where I might find it, it would be most appreciated. |

The Pegasus Page, by Arthur Emerson, did not have a burnt page. The routine went like this.
One of three books was chosen. The magician riffled the pages of the book and asked the volunteer to call "stop." The volunteer looked at the page number and remembered it. This was recorded on a whiteboard. This whiteboard and a second, matching one were placed together with nothing between them. There was a brief story, at the end of which the volunteer was asked to look at the page in the book. The page was missing. The two whiteboards were separated and the missing page was found between them. This could also be done with a set of spirit slates if you desired. The routine would then need a bit of changing.

I believe Marc Desousa has a version, or it can be adapted, of this on his L &L tapes and ASI Wind has a clever version too.
