Hi all:
Would like to know where (which dealer) did you obtain the stack of coins for performing "Cylinder and Coins"? How did you feel about the quality and did you encounter any issue during your performance of the above routine? Has anyone obtained the stack of coins from Tango Magic? If yes, how did you find it? Would appreciate your feedback as I am looking at acquiring one set of Stack of Half Dollar coins (which is reasonable priced) Thank you! |

I built my own. Pretty simple and easy to do. I just bought four imitation Morgan Dollars, a jewelers saw and some epoxy. A couple of hours later I had a very serviceable stack. I even put a magnet in it so it could be used as a hold out for my three shell game.

I had originally bought the Tango version to use for the old Cap and Pence effect, for which it works just fine. Only when I got it did I discover that it is a stack of five half dollars - not so great for the Ramsay effect.
I had a stack made for me by Roy Kueppers. You can find him here: http://www.roykueppers.com |

Does it mean there is 1 free moving + 4 "stagnant" coins, or all 5 five coins are "stagnant"? May I know why a stack of five half dollars is not so great for Ramsay effects? And if so, it should be a stack of how many half dollar? Thank you! |

I have a Lassen mag stack in Morgans (soft) which is very nice indeed and can be adjusted for 3 or 4 coins depending on how I feel. The cylinder is Thomas Wayne with cocobolo ends, it's perfect for the job and a joy to use. I use them with a Gareth Gwatkin 2 piece wand. All in all, pretty much one of the best set up's you can put together in my mind.

First off - I second TWOCAN - Muchisimas gracias!
@zhuanan: This particular stack was 5 American Kennedy half dollar coins in a stack, and they all pivot, just enough to spread them to make it look like a stack of five normal coins. The reason I say it is not really that great for a Ramsay Cylinder and Coins effect? For one, I think going through the motions of vanishing five coins would be too long for an audience and too boring to hold their attention, no matter how well you perform the vanishes or how entertaining you are. Second, while I personally do not have much trouble handling multiple coins in various positions, it may be too many for others (whether it is due to hand size, skill level, experience, etc.). Ideally, I think if you are working with American half dollars (or similarly sized foreign coins), four is about where you want to be, and for that size of coin, it also seems to be the "standard". For larger coins, such as the American Morgan Dollar (or, again, similarly sized foreign coins), three seems to be the norm. Of course, the number of coins used should be suited to your own needs and skill level - whatever you are comfortable with. In short, stick with 3 or 4 coins so as not to bore your audience. Also, depending on the type and size of coin you are using, and the material from which it is made, weight can also be a factor for some performers. You might like a lighter coin while another performer prefers the heft of silver coins. I hope this information is useful to you. |

I bought a nice set of Ike's from Mad Jake (I actually seem to remember this was Jake Jr who was doing these). The stack is nice and he made the cylinder out of "Black Delrin Plastic" and comes with two caps to keep everything contained till you need it. The price was really good for everything you got and came with a video.
After seeing "The Ambitious Card" is offering it using poker chips and dice rather than coins and cork, I may need to take a serious look at that set. It would be a fantastic addition to a gambling themed act rather than "that one coin trick on Fool Us". I love the looks of it.

Immediately bought the chip set from Ambitious Card, really looking forward to receiving it.
Hey, a while back Todd Lassen put out the word that he’s starting a list for those that want a Morgan set (coin stack and the most perfectly beautiful cylinders). Just curious if anyone who reads this put their name on the list. Pipe up if you did. I certainly did. Can’t wait. What an exquisite set. So, slowly acquiring all the ingredients necessary for this routine to go along with Eric Mead’s long-awaited book on Tim Conover’s material. Which should be out in 2020 and cost $850.00. No, wait, I don’t know. I have no idea, I’m only guessing. But if anyone wants to start a pool, that is where I’d put my money. But, seriously, who is on Todd’s list for the Ramsay stacks? |

I tell ya, there are very few things as exciting as finding an email in your inbox containing a shipping notice from Todd Lassen Coins. |
