I imagine that you "appropriate" it. I used to be a swing DJ called "Doctor Bell" (yes, honestly) but I never went to no medical school, daddy-o.

I got mine from a postgraduate program, but am not using it.
Doc Tony sounds like a 60's TV show...

If you want to borrow it, you can; just keep it clean snd return it when you're done.

Dr. Love and Dr. Feelgood sound like some of those adult movie characters. Not that I watch them...

Dr Feelgood was very cool. "Milk & Alcohol" is a splendid fusion of punk and blues and I do suggest you Youtube it. Wonderful stuff from around 1979 I believe.

In fact it's so good, here's the link:

I knew a guy that went by Doc, never even found out why. He was most definitely not a Dr. in any way, shape or form.

I don't use mine in the real world. I just lifted it because I like it. http://www.principiadiscordia.com/book/46.php

I watched my first one, the other night!

I was pretty young back then...

I used to live on Bernier Street (although it's now called Henrique Street) wher Long Liz was found!
Our famous last doc were Treves, who looked after Merrick, Parkinson, of Parkinson's disease , and Down, of Downs syndrome. All great Victorian physicians who used the appalling poverty and inbreeding of Whitechapel to observe some of life's most unfortunates.

Doc (one c) can be short for Dealer Of Cards and can apply, I believe, to gamblers, cheats and croupiers.

I don't know about Doc Shiels, but the right Rev. Dr. Hilford's name has two "c"s in it and is (I believe) his real name.

Me: B.A., M.A., J.D., Ph.D., Litt.D. (hon.)--however, the word doctor from the Latin means teacher (or learned) and was once used only for educated persons who taught. It has in past centuries been appropriated by persons in the medical professions, particularly in the states. It is also the title of a particular Time Lord though history does not reveal whether that is honorific or bestowed. The term doc, I believe, is the salutation of a famous cartoon rabbit. Docc is a mystery, as perhaps is right and proper.

I just assumed that Docc, with the two C's, was just a name. The title of Doctor or Professor is used a lot in sideshow circles. I'm not sure if the medicine shows picked it up from sideshow, or if sideshow picked it up from Med shows (one for Todd or Harley to answer) but either way it was popular with them too.

I'll be honest, whenever I see a performer calling themselves Dr or Prof I just assume its for performance reasons. Pretty cool some of you guys here actually earnt the title rather than just take it Smile
