Guys,

I have heard that this trick can break often/easily.

Can you tell me how it breaks and if you think it is feasible for it to be repaired.

Since I enjoy restoring Tenyo magic tricks, I am wondering if this is something that I can do to make some money or trades while I am helping restore someones trick.

You have to open the trick full (flat) and perform the trick or the gimmick will bend - the instructions mention this. Repairing it would be almost impossible I think.

I purchasd my Sidetrack in pretty used condition off of ebay a year+ ago and the seller said "he wasn't sure if it was working properly". It went cheap (under $30) so I took a chance. When it arrived it was not working. I was able to carefully pop the back panel and removed the "binding" on one side. I was able to get the unit woorking smoothly again. I re-sealed the binding with expoxy and replaced the inside black strip with a carefully cut piece of black vinyl tape to match what was there. It still works great and gives me some satisfaction that I was able to "bring it back to life".

I have no doubt that some luck was involved in my repair efforts but it is possible and worth a shot if you can get the effect cheap enough.

Cheers,

John

Thanks for the info on both the Sidetrack and the Dragon Altar coin.

I would love the challenge of fixing a Sidetrack and the satisfaction of making to work again.

Very interesting JM - thanks for that information. A working/like new Sidetrack is now offered on Ebay ... already up to 350 USD!

Yes, it is not worth it for someone to pay me to restore their Pillars of Thor, but certainly fixing a Sidetrack or restoring a Space walking coins might be worth it.

A very nice gentleman is sending me a Sidetrack to see what I can do with it. I will let you know how I make out.

Guys,

The broken Sidetrack came in today and it looks real fixable.

I looked at the pictures on Stereo's site but can use some close up pictures of the center of the trick when it it opened. I think I am missing some binding material there.

I can also use a picture on the reverse side where the card is pulled from. I want to see how far out it should extend.

I also don't have instructions. If anyone has them scanned in already and can send them that would be great.

If you can send pictures and instructions to jmazza1@comcast.net that would be great.

Thanks

Guys in the same box came a broken Color Fantasy.

This will be easy to fix because I just need to re-glue the channels on the side which came loose.

But I also think it is missing a card. In the box was:
Red Square on card
Blue Square on card
Yellow Square on card
Green Square on card
5 Colored Circles on Card
Card with see through circle
Black plastic Sheet with white on bottom
Black plastic holder.

I know for sure I do not have instructions (does someone have them and can you please send them to me at jmazza1@comcast.net).

But when I was looking at Stereo's site I see there seems to be a card with a Yellow Circle. I don't seem to have that.

I don't know if I am missing anything else.

Can anyone help me to put this together into a complete trick?

Thanks in advance

Also in the same box came a Crossroads with instructions but without packaging.

From the instructions I can see that I am missing two small pencil parts.

Also, I think the gimmick is incomplete. It is a tube, but should there be a false end of a pencil in one end? It looks that way in the instructions.

Can someone please send me a picture (jmazza1@comcast.net) of all the parts that come with the Crossroads?

Does anyone know where to buy the Camel brand pencils that are used in the trick? Does anyone have extra Camel brand pencils?

Thanks in advance

I actually have the Sidetrack instructions scanned in already. I'll send them your way.

It looks like the Color Fantasy you have is complete. The trick does not come with any circle cards besides the one with five circles.

As far as crossroads is concerned, the two small pencil parts were just there for display purposes. You don't need them for the trick. It only came with one pencil for the trick. You use your own pencil for the second pencil.

You are lucky Azzam because you receive the 2 tricks I have always search (color fantasy and cross road). Maybe the good karma in action ;o)

For Color Fantasy I think that maybe the photo is wrong. It's not my photo because I don't have this trick. It's internet photo.
But maybe you can make great photo for me with right props ;o)

I have send you instructions.

The only photo that is wrong is the second photo. It looks like they put 2 sets together. You can see there are 2 holders as well. The rest of the pictures are OK.

Any of you have one of the variant versions of SideTrack that was made for a magic convention? It has the name of the convention printed on the front.
