I remember watching Richard Ross perform his pocket watch routine on TV when I was a kid. I was completely amazed.
Anyone know what ever happened to his Jumbo Pocket Watch Shells? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWLGnMiPXKA

I never heard who obtained the original watches after Richard Ross's death.
The original manufacturer in the Netherlands has made a limited number of his watches for sale with a new idea added to them. No instructions. He quoted me a price of $6000.00 for the set of jumbo watches. That is out of my budget, so I had to pass. Seems he quotes different prices for different people. A teenager he quoted $4000, another member here he qouted $5000. I believe they are still available on his web site. |

Here is his website:
http://www.cupsandballs.nl/ A few years ago, he custom made me a three ring Linking Ring set, and the craftmanship was excellent. I also remember the price was very expensive, but worth it. Ron |

Some purchase them as a collectors item, and those that will use them, can be assured that he will have an effect, no one else is using, or nearly no one else, as this is a limited production. I also believe, and may be wrong, that his different pricing quotes is based on whether he believes the person is a performer or collector and if the person is young or older. A younger magician that would be using them in an act constantly, may be able to get a totally different quote. A collector an higher quote. You also have to remember this effect is what made Richard Ross famous. This is what you are paying for as well. I believe the price may be a little out of line, but an expert metal spinner would know better. The price also reflects the talents and machinery that was used to create them. But as anything, the longer you wait the higher the price. So get your quote now and buy them if you are truly intend to use them. |
