I like looking into the normal procedures of game, step by step and also things a croup should not do can useful to grifters, it seems to me. I was just looking into the boxing, the strip cut step of the procedures and wondering if a sleeve cam could catch that bottom card every time when its being done and what advantage that might be?

I couldn't find the stripping procedure. we have shuffling machines in our room. however, ive noticed a lot of dealers when hand shuffling, do lift the packets a little high. knowing which card is out of play(or in play) could be a huge advantage, especially in hold em in which players receive only two cards....dunno, just my two cents.

The boxing is on that..........also on that he mentions the cut card reflextion. What do you think to that?

In the video he says that the "shiny side reflects the cards"(talking about the cut card)....a pretty bold statement, all I can say is that I have not seen ANY cut card that can reflect the face of cards. none of the cut cards we use has enough "shine" to do that. as far as the mechanics of riffling and stripping, I personally don't like it. the dealer in the video has too many "moves" I.M.O. maybe ill do a video to explain what I mean.

However, I believe as Dowser said it is confined mostly to the cheaper cut cards. However, I have experimented with shiny cut cards and find that in a private game, against one or two opponents, a shiny cut card can be used as a glim to peek the top cards coming off the deck when dealing. The cut card would be on the bottom of the deck and has to be maneuvered to a certain angle to do this but it is certainly feasible for those who are interested in this sort of thing. The reason I say against one or two opponents is because the angled cut card can be easily concealed against a couple of players, but not in a "round" game. However, I think this concept is more of an oddity rather than a major gaff. |

Playing the light is strong in Hold'em,
using a cut card to do it though... sounds like active imagination... like weighted red black pencils so we can have one that just rolls one colour, but not two... of course some day some one may walk into my pit and prove me wrong (now it's me who is having an active imagination). |

I'm reminded of when SF alluded to playing the light with certain fabrics used on poker tables in casinos and card rooms - being able to differentiate face cards from spot cards. Anything is possible.

using a cut card to do it though... Same comment as above. Not practical for round games. Quote:
sounds like active imagination... Not really., We are not talking about a round game, not talking necessarily about Hold'em either, and it is not as good as a light under any circumstances. It was just an aside and specifically stated as an oddity and not a top gaff. But no imagination here. It works under specific circumstances but it is not a great gimmich for everyday use. |

The day I meet someone who can effectively play the light using a regular cut card offset at the bottom of the deck... then I will be impressed. I am just not buying this as anything that ever really happened. If you can do it though, I sure would like to meet you. |

I must be with The Dowser on this one.
I strongly doubt a cut card is shining enough for such a purpose. It's possible to have fun with cut cards though, one example: http://www.arnoldmcdonald.org/code/main.php?p=6200000 (select "cheating (miscellaneous)" then "Display") |

I am not sure what a "regular cut card" is?
Maybe stick one of them iphone screen protectors on it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qdcH4zgOzE :)
