Any advice on patter, or handling would be appreciated. I'm looking for general criticism, not specific to the trick. I picked twisting the aces because probably everybody knows it. Thanks

I watched with the sound off because there's a television on in the background. In general, it looked very good. Kudos on staying slow and steady. So many performances get very rushed.
A couple comments: 1) Occasionally your Elmsley Count has a tell because the card that is stolen back to the right hand is significantly out of line with the other card; 2) You shouldn't *twist* the packet at the end when all cards are face down. The point is that they're still face down because you haven't twisted the packet. The last card only turns face up once you twist the packet. But very nice all in all. |

Thanks for that tip on the elmsley, I didn't even notice.
The twist at the end works with the patter I used. It's taken right from vernons routine. The ace of spades is tricky and the twist has no effect on it. |

I thought it was well executed....

Looks good to me, only why you don't have a kicker?? Like, all the cards turning red at the end or something like that.
My favorite version of this effect is John Cornelius "Mowing the Grass" - it has a great story line that is perfect for any age, and in the end all the blue cards are really red cards that have been "marked". It's on his FISM Act tape and is worth every penny and then some. -JoeJoe

Slow unrushed pace is fantastic! I applaud you for that. But I wasn't engaged by the presentation. The patter was flat.
Find an amusing story to tell with it. Why are they turning face up? Why do you have to twist them? Find that hook, and you will have a winning routine. The sleight of hand was good. I didn't notice your misaligned Elmsley. Chad |
