I really like Cody, but to be honest the Kem Poyner body leaves a lot to be desired. Basically it's a poorly constructed fibreglass body in two parts which looks as though it was hastily stuck together. The finish is very rough and Cody's body has begun to come "unstuck" where Kem has joined the two pieces together with over lapping fibreglass.
I contacted Kem to ask about a new body and he advised to go to a hardware store and buy a fibreglass mending kit instead. Not being satisfied with what I considered a band-aid solution I approached several vent builders about getting a body. This was pretty tough as I'm in Australia and they're all in the U.S. so I really just had to trust their advice when it came to the correct sizing and so forth. One of the people I contacted was Tim Cowles who was amazingly helpful and told me he had sold a few of his bodies for Kem Poyner "Bobby" figure owners several times. He assured me that his body was suitable so I ordered one from him. So here is Cody with his new Tim Cowles body. He looks great! The hands are amazing with so much more details and far lighter in weight than his original body. This is the body I ordered from Tim.. What do you think? |

Cody didn't like his new outfit so after sorting through his wardrobe he decided on something more casual...

This is Cody's original Kem Poyner body. As you can see it really needed replacing Kem doesn't do good vent figure bodies very well in my opinion.

The one detail about the Timothy Cowle body is the neck hole. Given it is not as recessed as the Poyner body and is more of a natural body shape with a waist line Cody's head and neck looked slightly out of proportion (the Poyner figures have a larger "characture" type head). The solution was to give Cody's new body extra shoulders which adds more width and height to the upper body.
So here he is, Cody all complete with his new body. I'm very happy with the result. |

Thanks everyone
I'm now considering getting Cody a pair of the Timothy Cowles Classic Bare Feet so he can wear sandals or long shorts during the Summer months. What do you think? |

I like the Bare Feet design. I would also like to have these on my Selberg Max figure. I would get these if they are lightweight and durable.

Well if the hands are anything to go by I'm sure they are. Cody's Poyner hands were quite heavy and with little detail, whereas the Cowles hands are much lighter very much detailed.
I'm ordering the feet today |

I had a Poyner Bobby also. I thought the character was great but the body and hands were poorly done. I didn't care about the feet because I had him in shoes, but I would have liked the feet to turn out in a more natural position. Those Cowles feet look great!

Wanlu: Why are you selling your Kem Poyner figure?

I have ordered the feet tonight from Timothy Cowles. It took me a while because I've just completed an inter State move and had to wait several weeks for the Internet to be connected. As soon as I have them I will post pics here.
