Has anyone who has insurance through IBM ever contacted the insurance company to get a certificate for a venue that they were performing at? Did they charge you for that and if so how much?
Thanks, Rich |

When we had it they charged $30. The would only take a check and the turn around time was not very quick at all.

Now the turn around time is quick, or it was when I used it. The fee is $50.00.

You might want to check with the SAM. They offer the same service. I could be wrong about this, but I don't think they charge extra for that service.

I got turned down for a high paying gig (that would have been easy...) because I didn't have insurance. Is it expensive? Is it $50 each time just to prove you have it?
Forgive my ignorance... thanks. Dennis |

Get your insurance through Performers of the US. $220 a year and worth every penny. They don't charge to mail certificates. The only bad thing is that the policy runs from April to April.

Matthew and I checked around before deciding on the IBM, which actually provided the best coverage for the least amount of money at the time. We have carried it for both of us as well as the other members on our team for several years now.
I have not checked with other companies lately, so I am curious if we are still getting the most for our money. If anyone knows, please advise. ~Nanci |
