This is an AMAZING effect! My favorite has to be the delayed change--there is nothing more magical than a spectator pulling out bills from their own pockets that are getting sequentially larger in denomination! I am not a big fan of the presentation of a magician making a "mistake" or running into a problem where the effect doesn't work; so I changed the wording of the routine by using the wallet to point (like pointing my finger) at the bills while telling the spectator to put it into their pocket.
Another idea is to have one spectator form a "pocket" with their hands sandwiching the bills, and have another spectator slowly take out bill by bill and watch the money grow! |

Thanks Harry! I did manage to find them after all by searching for refills. Searching for 'rubber bands' didn't find them.
Thanks again. Jim |

Im working on getting this! I think I have a great idea that might possibly work instead of using large bills... not that I'm afraid someone will run off with them, I just don't have the type of fund. lol.
Justin. If I were too make some bills purely out of construction paper, sort of as a funny gaff? I would have the ones and offer it to the spectator and then change it to the fake bills. As a funny joke "Oh, Sorry. I don't have the funds" something along that nature. Would this work? Thanks. -Brandon |

Does anyone have any suggestions for UK bank notes, I know that a 20 Thai baht is the same size as £5, I'm looking for something the same size or bigger than a £20 note (149mm x 80mm).. I don't like using paper as the paper often rips to easily and I will have to replace it.

I had mentioned to Justin in a PM that I used a z-fold wallet to construct the gimmick because that was the perfect size wallet compared to others I own (and the color was perfect also)- as I was setting everything up I thought of possibly doing a routine where you show the wallet empty first, (mine has a plastic window that is first shown to be empty) do the "tap" of the bills (which are either in the spectators hand or on a table). After the "tap", all that is left in the spec's hand is the rubber band, I immediately open the wallet and the bills re-appear in the wallet (visible through the plastic window. (without the rubber band).....so it looks like the bills "slipped" out of the rubber band and penetrated the wallet. I also have an identical REGULAR wallet that's switched in as the bills are being inspected (I take them from the wallet and hand them out), then hand out the wallet for inspection also. you could also easily skip the last part and just hand out the bills.
This is a really cool effect that is even fun just doing it yourself in front of a mirror. I can't wait to do this because anything that takes place in the spectators hand is a plus. Great thinking on this one, Justin. Very, very clever! |
