I think I'm more interested in the bonus handlings than I am the main effect. Don't get me wrong, I think it looks great but I still think Extreme Burn is the most visual.
Also, unless I missed it somewhere...when is it actually being released? |

Looks pretty good, but in the video when showing the bills before the change he holds them and crosses his hands everytime- doesn't seem to be a clean display of the bills before the change with the hands in a position that looks a little unnatural. Though, I feel everything else looks nice!

Tapping with the wallet is perfectly logical as well since I presume that the wallet will be in play as that would undoubtedly be where one will be taking the bills out of. I like this change though the demo video doesn't make it impressive looking (as it looks like what it is on the video, no way one could get around that). In practice though, this thing will definitely kill and is so much more straight forward with no real angle issues. The best part I feel is the fact that once the change occurs, you don't have to worry about the bills in the person's hands as those bills are clean. The show after the change is also extremely clean for the magician. To top it off, the fact that people will undoubtedly try to pocket the money gives the performer a lot of flexibility and headroom for entertaining patter, performing for a female would also undoubtedly leave plenty of room for flirtation as well Good job JM! |

I think it's a very good-looking visual change and would fool any layman, however, I have had people grab the bills out of my hand multiple times when performing "Extreme Burn" and that is only changing 1's to 5's or 20's. I can't fathom changing 1's to 100's and doing it with them in the persons hands. I would be afraid the spectator would take off running with the bills and never see them again.
Looks to be the same method as Chris Ballinger's 'Redemption' and David Stone's 'Tool'. I do like the fact that you don't need to have a prepped set of bills as in 'Extreme Burn' and it is a nice looking effect, but its not for me. Too risky doing it in the spectator's hands. |

Not being funny, but this seems a step back and illogical. Why the need for a gimmick rather then something that appears ungimmicked like extreme burn. All the heat would be on the wallet. It is the only only logical explanation. Even if spectators couldn't figure it out they would know it was the wallet. Highly dubious about having spectators handle $400 in these economic times. Lots of Justins tricks are great, but personally this doesn't make sense.

If you have a Shogun wallet you can take out the four $1 bills and show that four $100 bills are left in the billfold (or whatever denomination you are changing to).
Do the change, then open your wallet back up and show that the $1 bills are now in the billfold. A nice transposition that justifies the use of the wallet. |

At 00:52 in the demo clip Jm does a nice touch where he opens the wallet, closes it, makes the change and....does a nice display of showing both sides of the wallet.

However, this is a bill trick we are talking about, bills will naturally come out of that wallet. It acts as nothing more than a magic wand of sorts and in the routine, it's not suspicious. Extreme Burn doesn't actually look or feel any cleaner than this but on the flipside, Extreme Burn and similar methods have more disadvantages than the very low tech method that this version provides. On top of that, being completely hands off for the change and being completely free and clear for the spectator to just start going at the bills at the end of the change is more advantageous than Extreme Burn and Hundy. Honestly, I really feel that people are poo poo'ing this method because the actual method is quite obvious (definitely not obvious to a lay person though) to a magician and let's face it, magicians love complicated methods. If you stop analyzing the effect from a magician's perspective that strives for the newest and craziest methods available, this version of the bill packet change is actually very good and extremely practical. Also, again, the fact that you are left clean after the change, that does make a BIG difference because the first thing a person wants to do after seeing such a change is to get at it with the bills and you are free to allow for exactly that situation (hopefully you will not be shy about getting your bills back though, hopefully). |

After the change happens the wallet is shown very, very cleanly on both sides, after that there is no heat at all on anything EXCEPT the bills..which are as clean as windex! I have performed this literally a thousand times (no joke) in the past 9 months and no one has ever asked about the wallet, or tried to grab the wallet. And there is a MAJOR reason why and a lot of psychology that goes into the reason and I talk all about it on the dvd...nut shell...it is a sacred item and part of your personal space. JM |
