For those who do the 6-foot balloon:
Do you wear a mic inside with you?
What kind of mic survives getting in and out?

Interestingly enough, the balloon acts as a resonator. So if you're relying on a microphone on a stand, the microphone will pick your voice up from outside the balloon. The issue (not a problem, just an issue) with body microphones is that the balloon neck will pull on the cords, so go to extra lengths to tape or hide the cords under your clothing.

Lou: That looks like a nice mic! Kinda pricey for me at this point.

Wes: That's an interesting fact about the balloon resonating sound. I have a wireless hand-held that I normally wear around my neck. I could put it on a stand for this routine, which would work well all the way around. I had thought about a throat or body mic, and hiding the cord under my shirt, but then you have to deal wil clothes noise, and not being able to hold the mic for a volunteer.

Thanks!
Ed
