Rick has been releasing some quality items recently. It's great that he has put the thought and time into his effects and the production of the videos are excellent. Looking forward to this one. Will keep you posted if I get it over the Easter break.

"What’s the catch? This trick is hard. It doesn’t use sleight of hand, but does use verbal misdirection and audience management. Lots..."

But an (A)CA(A)N effect for under $10 isn't that bad, is it?!?

Hey Guys! Rick here. First of all, thanks for the interest. If you do get this trick, I hope you enjoy it. I do think you will. Put a lot of thought into this one.

BigSmile, Yeah, the patter is tricky for this trick. Like the Derren Brown verbal card forces. It feels loose and haphazard, but it's actually very specific and quite purposeful.

Jimesw, Thanks for the kind comments about the production on the previous tricks! Those were shot with theory11, and this one was shot by my good friend Bizzaro. The dude is a fantastic magician (in case you're not familiar), and he's great with a camera, too. Feel very lucky to have worked with him on this.

Hey Rick,
forcing something like this: "Name some number in the middle"... Smile

By the way: Normally I like to see the performance completely and not cut or edited (as you see it everywhere in trailers). So is there a complete performance online somewhere?

Best,
Carsten

PS: And a Happy Eastern to all of you! Smile

Indeed, BigSmile, that is part of the particular wording. But with this trick, they don't actually have to name a number in the middle. Technically, you can many any number work. But if they do name a number towards the middle, it's a lot easier. And you can see a full performance on lawyerboymagic youtube channel.

In my opinion Barrie Richardson´s Impromtu Card at any Number is far better

Another vote for Barrie Richardson's Impromptu version.
Also, look at David Berglas's techniques working with a shuffled pack. Very bold and straightforward, but I can tell you from experience that that approach works and it slays.
It's all in the reflexes.
