I'm not sure who the performer was off the top of my head, but I am sure that I have seen
a chair test routine done before without chairs.

In fact I'm certain that the idea of a chairless chair test is not new...

If anyone can remember who did a "chairless" chair test first please post
the information, and if I remember first I'll do the same.

I do know that Patrick Redford performs one without chairs; it's outlined in his manuscript, Ensconced Fundament. Derren Brown has performed similar routines as well on his specials, The System, and I believe another on his Trick or Treat specials, the former based on the theme of probability, the latter on superstition. Beautiful stuff! David Berglas also has a brilliant routine, ESPacology which uses no chairs. These inspirations are mentioned in my manuscript.

There may be a few other routines I've missed out (I can't have seen or read them all) - but yes, I'm definitely not the first to perform this genre of routines without the use of chairs.

I think Nique made a credible effort to detail his sources and inspirations in his pdf.

I suffered through a grueling forty-five whole minutes of constructing the props this week. This ten minute routine cost me eight bucks with a Michael's coupon. I gave it a run in front of a small crowd today and I state again that this is defnitely a worker and will have a place on my stage.

To anyone that is still undecided on this effect, I'd like to say purchase it. You won't be disappointed, especially if you like Chair Tests! I already contacted Nique to let him know that this routine is replacing the chair test I currently have in my show. I'll be changing the final reveal to suit my own style, but this one is a winner. The ebook is well written, plenty of photos to help guide you in the construction of the props. The development of the props are extremely simply, I doubt anyone would have trouble putting them together.

I have just got this and had a quick read. The ebook is well written.
The routine is easy to do and you have the seemingly impossible outcome.
I am a hobbyist and have no prior experience with chair test/predictions type routines, but I'll most definitely make this up to perform.

It's always nice reading a routine which has clearly been well performed and all the nuances figured out. The effect is strong but easy for the audience to follow an does have a few 'wow' moments built in. This routine is a great mix of previous methods mixed together to create something new and devious!

WHAT???

First, let me note that I perform almost exclusively for adults. I've noticed in the back and forth of handing out and trading envelopes that the volunteers often become lost and forget what letter they were standing under, etc so I encourage this by moving them around a bit. When the confusion about getting back to their letters ensues, I start handing out rubber animal noses (Anteater, Bunny, Cat, Dog) to 'help' them remember their letters. Silly, but folks eat it up and, for sanitary reasons, I let them keep the noses as souvenirs. They run about fifty cents apiece bought in bulk, but I'm thinking of switching to headband ears...

I equip them with colored dwarf hats!

We may have mutilated your baby a little, Nique, but the fact remains that you have created a terrific, fun, easily transported routine that audiences are eating up. Congratulations!

I purchased and downloaded Chairless night and I was able to rea though the manuscript this morning. It is an excellent chair routine that has multiple predictions. All of the choices made the spectators as to where they want to stand (or sit if using chairs whcih is not necessary) and what envelopes they want are freely made. The spectators can switch the envelopes that they have received after they were initially mixed up by another spectator. This is a very fun and entertaining "chair" test that can be adapted to your own needs and routine if you so desire. All of the supplies needed can be found at your well stocked stationary/ofice supply. I am very pleased with my purchase. Nique was also kind enough to promptly respond to a question I had regarding part of the routine. THis is a terrific "chair" routine that is meant to be used without chairs but can certainly be used with chairs. Highly Recommended.
