Paul,

Hopefully you're giving some priority to those who replied "PM Sent" in the Marketplace forum.

Hey Paul!

I agree with Houdini, hopefully you're giving some priority to those who sent you private PMs first!

I found out he's planning on selling it on eBay.

Paul, you post you have Tenyo to sell in the marketplace, people take a look, PM you with what they want, then you come back and say on reflection you're putting it up on eBay.

That's a bullshyte thing to do and clearly shows you're priming your eBay auctions before your items are posted.

I won't be buying your crap and I suggest no one else does either, what you're doing is unethical.

I'll pass.

I was not going to weight in on this, but after receiving the following message from the seller, I will:

"Check out a famous auction site over the next couple of days.
The interest in my collection has been amazing".

I responded, "I think I will skip it. Tired of your games". Shoot, even as a kid I didn't behave as he has.

More importantly, he was supposed to post prices with everything he listed in the "For Sale" section and didn't. Against Café rules when it comes to "For Sale" listings.

Second, his taking offers from multiple members was not cool.

Of course anyone has the right to sell what he/she wants at whatever prices. Heck, we all want to make a profit in life, but there are the right ways and the wrong ways to do it.

... I'll be saving my money.

I think he just do not anticipate the demand and all the persons wich are interested. So the best way it's to put on auction site. The period is crazy, people buy truck of tricks just for re-sold after, jump in all they can find etc etc... not easy when you are not in the Tenyo circle to know what to do...

Killer,

Not if he lists the Haunting at a starting price of $320.62

AND

Nostradamus Clock starting at $128.25

Which he just did. He started putting stuff on the big auctions site already.

So that's $448.87 for those two OPENED tricks if no one else bids.

It is obvious that Paul does not know how to sell Tenyo on the big auction site

More then 10 bucks?! No SIR-E BOB - thank you! Smile lol

I'm going to watch his items ... wonder how much they will sell when opened. I believe Nostradamus Clock can go up tot 150 - 200 USD, Haunting for 200 USD. Let's sit back, relax and see Smile

If it was his intention to see what these items were worth he could have easily asked us that's true. Or perhaps he tried to advertise a bit? Ah well ... you can't blame him for selling for the highest price he can if he needs the cash.

That's Cool,

Just because an item is listed at a price does not mean it is worth that price.

You have to look at completed auctions to get the market price.

Mint/unopened Haunting (a few actually) was for sale for more or less 400 USD not that long ago - Steenschmidt sold them and they got all sold in the end I think.

Correct.

What something sold for once is not indicative of value or worth. "The Haunting sold for $400" does not mean its worth that. I have said this many times, the best way to assess worth is to track auctions over a period of time to reveal high and low outlier closings (eliminating known shill bids if you're privy to such information) and assessing what a haunting sold for, say 5 times (even though it will take a bit as they don't come up often), and with/without packaging (which you will find makes little difference).

Ultimately collectors pay vast sums for Tenyo that hasn't been seen in a long time. This more than anything has consistently proven to be the true driving factor behind legitimate "record-breaking" closings on eBay.

You cannot assess value by referencing one or two eBay closings, it takes historical charting for which Med_Doc7 and I have gathering for quite some time.
