I did also say I don't believe in villifying and making Bill an example when the practice is pushed by a large distributor. And I think this is an area where many of you may not understand, because you are not store owners. And Mr. Wolf Ad-copies are just that, copies of text descriptions that are provided by the Distributor of a product. When you carry hundreds if not thousands of products these ad-copies are just copied, and pasted. Many stores even automate this process using product feed services, and FTP image client hosting. All I am saying here is if it's personal make it personal, and not public. The Café is not intended for lynching anyone or anything. It is to discuss aspects of products, techniques, methods, and theory. We should take this conversation elsewhere or end it now, out of respect for this thread and the Café. Hi Steve,
I have no affiliations. I was trying to ramrod a new version of Musing box a while back, but that was just an idea, no affiliation with any company. James Quote: On 2012-05-11 18:39, DR STEVE HOSKINS wrote:

I see your point but I am just writing about the patent and it's laws and restrictions. It seems you are going for an esoteric view of rights.
I think using philosophy you could argue for almost any point really. James Quote: On 2012-05-11 14:59, gdw wrote:

The reason we cannot compare generics in big business to magic is that magic is a niche market. If magicians do not support the creators they will stop creating. It has already started. John Cornelius told me via email that he stopped marketing items because of ripoffs.
Think what that guy has in his brain!!! If you guys think that Madhatter is some kind of saint I want to tell you those Quantum bender ripoffs only cost $15. See what he does is use items from Murphy's like the Spider Pen Pro, sell it for $99, makes no profit but while you are at his site, he sells you a quantum bender rip for $50 profit. Those WOW rips are like $6 each. It's not illegal. It is using the genius of the creator to sell crappy versions from China. James

If I find an item cheaper .. guess what .. I am going to buy it there. You can take your sanctimonious attitude of buying from the overpriced 'original' version and flush it. I don't give a flying flip. I commute 3 hours a day on my dime and I work hard for my money and if I can save a dollar ... I will. I think it is a bigger sin to waste my money. Did you notice what I said ... my money. Yeah .. it is mine. You have no right to dictate where I spend it .. it is mine. I will spend it any way I dang feel like.

When I was at the grocery store, I picked up Albertson's Jello pudding for 50 cents instead of Jello Brand pudding for $1.50. Should I feel guilty now, since that was clearly a ripoff? At least it tastes good!

Hmmm ... if the toe switch is the only way to operate the pen, I'll probably have to cancel my preorder. I love the idea in theory but I don't want to walk around with an uncomfortable contraption on my foot in the hopes I will get a chance to use it that day. I want to be able to use this at a moment's notice. I would be happy with dual methods of operation, with the toe switch obviously being the most clean. How did the original spider pen operate?
I have some other really good effects that require me to use a toe switch and I almost never use them. Back to the buying knock off items... someone mentioned Losander on here and he even popped on. I would love to have a floating table. Actually I plan on it someday. The price has held me back. However, I could afford a knockoff. I have held off from it because Losander has made a good case on why his product is superior in craftmanship. That appeals far more to consumers than trying to shame us into buying a certain product.

Is it me or am I missing something... That thread was posted in 2008 and was mentioning the pro version then. Yigal also said that 100 units were sold as pre orders and people would have had theirs a few weeks after the convention. So are there already 100 in circulation somewhere???
wait a minute, last post mentions about the delay - problem solved. But if 100 units were already paid up front with pre orders, I guess he would have to have gone through the trouble of refunding each person - ouch |

I really hope it's a toe switch! That would make this device the perfect levitation tool with no need for manual button pressing using the hands like the previous Spider Pen.

If there's a toe switch, that's fine, as long as its not mandatory for operation, and it can be used without it.

Hmmm .. that one has a velcro band to hold the switch on. I like that a lot better than the one I use for The Moment, a band-aid. Also the toe switch cord is removable from the remote. I could wire myself up and carry the remote in my pocket until I am ready to perform and then connect it in private. Or I could simply use the remote. This line in the announcement "plus a remote control and toe-switch feature" makes me think the two items are modular and I wouldn't always have to use the toe switch. I would be more than happy with that.
Or maybe this has all been scrapped and soul technology is something completely different. I keep thinking the pen is something I would have to keep on my body. I guess I can have that laying or clipped to something and be free to move around and operate remotely.
