I have had this for a couple of days now. I lean more to the bizarre, but this little bute, has given me a touch more of the wanting to do some mentalism again!
Can't add more than what has been said, but I have a few goodies to make now! Smile

Thanks for releasing,Bryn!

Best,
Gary

Geez, I have got to read this. I got this when it was released. I just get everything of Bryns. I have most of these things individually as well as Safran.

On a serious note: Anyone that puts the time in to any method to divine a single card without using cards and you aren't using 7 you're wasting your time.

Thanks, Gary! The lines between bizarre and mentalism can be well-blended (THAT side of me will come out perhaps down the road....) but I am a firm believer that the tactics, techniques, and procedures of mentalism can translate nicely to the works of the bizarre performer. LOGAR SCROLLS offers off few of each, I think,...

Good luck in the journey, and please post back here your thoughts, once you have had some time to explore these effects and ideas further.....

Thanks for the purchase, John, but please READ it! Even though you already "have everything," I think you will like the new variations & brand new effects, especially by Richard Osterlind.

(And thanks for the mention of SEVEN, which is in The Safwan Papers, and is still available.)

What I like about Bryn's material is like '$' (started 'collecting' friday), it's repeatable!

In SAFWAN Bryn mentions the problem with doing magic at work, and for friends and loved ones is they'll want you to show some one else as they watch a second, third, and fourth time, etc. The reasoning I think is two-fold: They want to see the other person's reaction as well as attempt to get closer to the method.

I really like Matt Mello's 'Serial' for example, but have stayed away from it for the above reason. What's cool with something like '$' is you can repeat it, and use another method later for maximum impact (they remember the stack of bills was borrowed).

As far as 'The Gift', there are so many possibilities and strengths here. It's just great on a lot of different levels. It's perfect for some one learning psych forcing and adding further layers as they grow. And once again it's repeatable because the method is built around a framework that can and should be adjustable, as the structure allows and even depends on flexibility for increased bafflement.

Great job guys! =)

I've been getting some gream PMs, feedback here and on other forums, and even some great handling variations submitted on the Osterlind routines.

These effects are pets of mine, so it certainly means a lot!

I appreciate it....

Hey all.

Just wanting to chime in and add my praise to the list of Logar lovers out there.
Its amazing to read and know that he came up with this stuff not while he was sipping cocktails in the beach, but in warzones! I especially liked 'the notebook'.

Thanks Bryn!

I got LOGAR yesterday. A quick review:

Let me start by saying I loved The Safawan Papers, so much that when I saw that Bryn had another book I jumped on it more or less blindly. He reversed the deal that he had offered on the Café, and so he gave me a $20 discount on Logar.

What I did not realize about this book was that it is largely a collection of physical tools. Also, there will be a few places where things will be much clearer and useful if you own certain other books that get referenced. I use almost no tools of this sort, which is why I loved Safwan so much, so I probably won't be able to use a lot of the book.

That said, it is a good read. I especially thought ESPevelope is really simple and useful way to peek, load and switch really casually. $ is a serial number divination that is very straightforward and would be easy to play with to make a good impromptu performance. Using the free 2know mnemonic software (for anyone familiar with the Major system or with an hour or so of free time to learn it) would do away with the c***, which was the only part of the effect that was awkward to me anyway. Plus you could give away the money afterwards if you so chose, as new mnemonics become cheap when the process is automated. I especially thought the 3rd tip by Jheff made the whole thing very intuitive. The Gift is a pretty interesting and entertaining take on an old idea, and I can definitely see myself using it.

Logar is a good chance to see some interesting ideas, and maybe make some items that will be workers in your show. Plus, there's no question that Bryn is a stand-up guy who puts some good thought into his mentalism. I don't see myself using much of what I read here, but that's just a matter of performance style at the moment. I'd recommend checking this out.

Like many of us, I'd heard about Bryn Reynolds via the "D**ble D*wn" routine on the Osterlind DVD a few years back. Just picked this yesterday. If I didn't know better, I'd swear Bryn had completely lost his marbles. So to be clear, for $25.00 USD, you get:
-The Logar Scrolls, which is normally $45.00, and includes most/all of his commercial effects for us to make on our own, with some bonus idea for "$" by Jheff Poncher, and the Osterlind Routine, to boot?!?
-The Safwan Papers, which likely sells for the same?

What I really like about TLS is that you get a good number of tools, not just routines (but there are ideas for those as well). Having read through TLS a couple of times already, I feel like Bryn went on vacation for a few weeks and left his front door open for us to party in his house while he's gone. This is highway robbery, people! I didn't want to go into the usual "worth the price of the entire book" cliche. However, just from reading "the No**book" and the 18 pages worth of "BC* Pr**iction" material, I have to say that if you use just one of the tools contained within, you will have definitely gotten your money's worth, to put it lightly. Definitely looking forward to working with these two, along with "the G**t" for starters.

This was quite generous, and with the offer extended until Tuesday, hopefully more will snatch this one up. Thanks very much, Captain!

Café Members:

I have changed my signature to reflect a new lower price on The Logar Scrolls, and to keep it consistent with my other eBook, The Safwan Papers.

Both are $30 each. The combo deal for purchasing both at the same time is $50.

They can be purchased through Outlaw Effects, or directly from me:

Both my email and PayPal is: cavscout19@hotmail.com

Again, thank you for all the great comments and reviews on these two mentalism eBooks!

I wanted to let you know Logar Scrolls is now available at Lybrary.

Obviously, I make more from a direct purchase from me, but this is another great option for those wishing to go that route. Chris at Lybrary is excellent to deal with, and they offer a tremendous selection of ebooks there.

Thanks,
Bryn

I loved the Safwan Papers and will have to give this one serious consideration. If it seems that I have been offsite for awhile, it's because I have.
