Not really a Bizarrist, I am still fascinated by stories that can move people, punctuated if possible by magic.
Please indulge me? The Anniversary Toast A young couple had never been so desperately in love, but their families had been bitter enemies for generations. On their wedding night, they opened a small bottle of Brandy, one of the few gifts they’d received, and drank a toast to their own eternal love, and spoke a prayer for peace somehow between their families. After less than a year of wedded bliss, the young wife disappeared one night, returning home from a revival service. Although several bushes were broken and uprooted along the path to the church, a month long search found no evidence of a body. It was never proven, but the husband had always suspected his own family had engineered the disappearance of his beautiful bride. Each year on April 27th, using what remained of the Brandy, he would raise a toast to his lover, and pray for her eventual return. He knew that one day he would find her again. Years later, to commemorate what would have been their 25th anniversary, the now much older man purchased a crystal bell, and had it engraved in her honor. Very little of the Brandy remained. He knew that she was truly gone, and this would be the last time he would toast to her memory. Setting a glass for himself and one for her, he placed the crystal bell on the table between them. He poured the last bit of Brandy into his glass and lifted it to his lips. “Goodbye, my love.” As the story teller drains the glass, the crystal bell visibly and audibly tinkles once or twice. As the man sets down his glass, a strange smile crosses his lips, as his head tilts forward and his eyes close forever. He has found his love. ----- This is done with props I found in a thrift store for a total of about five dollars. The bell moves by virtue of IT, wrapped (but not knotted) around the clapper, then lead to a small weight at the edge of the table. Only done this four times so far, and it does get a chill. Enjoy!

A touching presentation too. There's been a lot of discussion lately about Bizarrist personalities. I tend to fall into the Investigator/Academic role and, as such, like to present both sides of the Spirit Realm. Not all spirits are vengeful or wanting to share the experiemces of their demise but most effects tend to be spookier and spookier, it's nice to have a simple, positive tale to tell now and then. Thank you!

Great story, that is one of the things mystery entertainers/Bizarrists have to keep in mind is the peaks and valleys of scripting if it is all full throttle horror there isn't really a fulfilling experience , we have to give them the full range, love, loss, humor, tragedy, trepidation, etc.. then we have relayed the moments of a life

DW, I hope you don't consider "Bizarrist" an unfitting persona, because my friend--we claim you--
Thank you for sharing this. Begining, middle, end, emotional hook, and sweetly creepy. Yes. Gothicmagic, Yes for you too, well-said. If any of you have a spare 18 min., please listen to the TED talk by JJ Abrams, excellent lessons of all sorts, but in particular, listen to what he has to say about JAWS, and what he felt the movie was really about- http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/en/j_j_abrams_mystery_box.html |

I accept it with genuine gratitude. It’s my understanding that Bizarre encompasses the tradition of story-telling, without necessarily being “gross” or horrific. I just hope folks are “moved” by my stories.
(…also enjoyed the JJ Abrams vid…)
