Trying to get back into magic after a bunch of years away from it. I own the whole Tarbell course and I know that the way it was set up back then, but is there a new different way to study Tarbell or is it the old way to study? Hope this makes sense.

Of course, Tarbell was originally written to be a mailorder course in magic. Today you simply don't have to wait for the postman.

Yes, the Tarbell series is great.
I also like Mark Wilson's Complete Course and Harry Lorrayne's The Magic Book. All three books are aimed at "beginners" but there is lots of wonderful, commercial magic in those books which will take you far beyond the beginner level.

What I was thinking was taking some of the tricks and sort of updating them for modern audiences. Because most audiences have rarely or never seen this stuff before. good idea?

Not until you understand WHY the original works should you change anything.

Hi
I remember about 15 years ago there was a forum where the members would pick an effect from tarbell. Then they'd try to bring it up to date. Seemed like a good idea. Then they share their idea's and improvements with those who were interested. Ralph
