Ordered last night. I really like this concept. Will try it out this weekend. If it plays as good as it reads this can be a real winner on par with PK Time

Tested it on a few random people, the results were very good. My favorite are the Facebook news feed, photos and book test in that order. I will be using this today at a paid event, looking forward to some huge reactions. Anyone else care to share their real world experiences using this?

I purchased the original short manuscript for SwipeIt when it was first released and I have now had the chance to read this new, updated edition.
First of all I found the new technique for the secret move to be great and I love how it looks much cleaner than the original version. As well many of the contributions are great. I particularly enjoyed Mauricio Jaramillo's contribution "Words" and have been playing around with his principle for a while now. Also "iShiner" and "iThumper" are great ways of using the iPhone as a utility device for different effects. All in all this is a great ebook and well worth the price. I will be using SwipeIt for Remote Viewing and Ebook tests the next time I get the chance. Thanks, Brad |

Yes... it's a clever idea and the "work" does what it's suppose to do. But I would like to mention a few things about the actually implementation of this. How many people are going to let you access their private information, whether it be photos, the books they are reading or other areas of stored information on their Iphones? A smartphone has become a personal filing cabinet in ones pocket. I find it hard to get someone to lend me their phone to make a local phone call, what more let me "flip" through their personal photos, contact lists etc. And even if you can get your hands on their phone and get permission to access their photos albums, people do not normally carry their phones around "bare backed." They have everything from rubberized coverings to full flip cases... any kind of case will make the handling difficult to almost impossible. Don't get me wrong. The material in the Ebook works as detailed and some of the additional effects are interesting (although one of the links to a special something si dead). I would give this a 10 for clever... a 3-4 for practicality. |

I was seriously thinking about getting this (and I don't even have an iPhone!).
It sounds that good! But, after the last post, I'm reconsidering. Anyone care to give a rebuttal on the previous post??? |

I use it all the time. Use their Facebook page if photos are a problem. I performed this casually at an event last week. The guy brought his wife over and had me repeat it on her ipad using her kindle books. They were blown away.
Don't worry so much about asking to look through peoples photos etc. Just be cool and you'll do fine. |

Thanks for the response. Anyone else? |

Never, ever had an issue. Not due to cases (not even an otter box), not due to privacy, Sounds like someone who just has it in his head it can't work for him.

I can see ways this could backfire, and I don't step into a routine with unknowns. Even if a spectator doesn't realize it... I'm in charge. That's just me. I can add a few points to my original post. The "grip" on the phone is unnatural. Who holds a phone like that? I know it's to facilitate the spectators involvement in the selection process, but still, it's unnatural. And just like a card or coin worker spends hours on making a "move" look natural, I like to do the same thing in regards to presenting mentalism. And my point about phone cases still stands. Anything short of a thin silicone skin case would make these "moves" harder and unnatural. I carry my phone in a flip case. Try doing this smoothly with a leather flip case. Just my opinions. |

Sometimes I just use my own phone with my Kindle books. Maybe not as strong, but you'll never have privacy issues to worry about.

Clever principles do not necessarily make an effect the next best thing since sliced bread. And if I saw you holding the phone as suggested in the instructions, I would have an issue. Who the heck holds a phone like that for any reason? And you're partially correct, it doesn't work for me (the handling, not the "work"). And since it's ME who is attempting to see if this works for my performance style, then it's very important, isn't it? And if I can point out something to the others on this forum, then my opinion may have some note. Do you mine that I have my own opinions? |

Does This work on a samsung galaxy s smartphone jose? I'm really interested in purchasing but the idea of the way the phone is handled seems off putting.....

It's a very unnatural grip and I don't like the way it looks. I'm surprised you jump my bones for having an opinion. Do you just take everything you get, smack out of the package, and perform it the way your instructed? Or do you try to make an effect fit your style, fit your character, tweak and adjust so as to achieve what you think is the best possible experience for your audience. Or are you plain boring? |
