Hello Other Strange Guys!
Ok, ANOTHER dilemma (see Spirit Slates on this forum) --I hate every Peek Wallet I’ve seen available now, from the cheep ones to the very expensive. They all have bells-and-whistles, or are convoluted, or bulky, or have lots of pockets like real wallets. Nope, not what I gotta have… *****I’m looking for a very specific “peek wallet” It is the Dr. Stanley Jack’s Wallet.***** --It is more like a card case than a wallet. --It is a simple, clean, three-fold leather case. --Very thin construction with just one pocket. --Also has a ridiculously simple fool proof (I’m that fool) method. WizardCraft was supposed to make these, to Ed Fowler’s specifications, but they aren’t doing them at this time, or anytime soon. I was in touch with my buddy Evil Dan, the leather master, he’s not been able to make them successfully. I even went to my(2) local leather guys… One said no, one said he wouldn’t bother. <sob> I’m outa sources and ideas. Any one have one they’d like to part with? Any other creative ideas? Magically, Bro. Walt |

A google search says the mind controller wallet is built the same way as Stanley Jak's. Doesn't look to me like what you've described, but is supposedly based on the Jak's design.

I'll be seeing Ed this afternoon, and will find out what the story is on the Jax Wallets. The last I heard was he was looking into JOL making them for him, but I don't know where that stands. Cheers Frank |

Hi, Walt...
I rather expect my posting here will be greeted as "odd." I've looked at many p**k wallets too, since I love the idea of them. I have only one I that I actually use on a continual basis. In fact -- I never even really considered it a "p**k" until recently. The issue, for me, has always been the notion that they write it down and THEN put what they've written into MY wallet. How come? There's never been an explanation that works for me. How come (?)...aside from "this is the only way I can actually do the effect." I wanted an effect where the person wrote what they wrote, where it STAYED there and I didn't need to have any sneaky moves to get my "pe*k." The p**k had to be instant, done in the same second I took the wallet from them, ostensibly to put it on the table. No muss, no fuss, no awkward moves -- just a quick glance and I would have what I needed. For a long time I've used the SAW from Alakazam. I still do on occasion as the SAW is my everyday wallet. But, despite a purely perfect method, the SAW still requires me to move what the spec has written from their hand to my wallet. My solution? I use a Though* Tr*nsmitter. It's been a staple of my act for years. It cost me forty bucks and is good for about a year of heavy use. I currently have four of them -- three in boxes waiting to be used. There are a few drawbacks with the TT. It doesn't work in bright light and you need to use a few basic audience management techniques -- especially in very low light. There are times when you can't use it at all...although I'd consider them significantly fewer than the times where I would not be able to use a standard p**k. I think the TT is a masterpiece of simplicity and, despite it's low price. It's not cool, expensive or even remotely "sexy" as a prop...but it gets the job done every time. (For me anyway.) David

Walt, you had me at "Leather Master"...
I have a few peek wallets too and always found them a little awkward. I usually end up using my wallets for Card To or KK type stuff because, like David, having them watch me put something in 'for safe keeping' makes less sense to me. Why a wallet, etc? That said, I also echo David's recommendation on the Thought Transmitter, which I finally bought on his recommendation, because it's a logical business card holder. I take out the case to obtain the card (now it has a reason to be out), have them write whatever, and since it's right there, it's a convenient place to hide it. I don't put it back in my pocket, just leave it on the table. It just makes sense to me.

Just for the record , the Mind controller wallet was thought out by me . It was only after its release by JB Magic that I was introduced to a Jaks wallet ,needless to say I was hauled over the coals for my "idea " by a few .That was in my infancy of tudying mentalism and being privvy to a lot of stuff . That said my initial pre requisite was to be able to gather the information without having to re-visit the wallet and also to hav an everyday use for it .

Thank you EVERYONE for your ideas so far!!!
--I’ve had a T.T. and I love it and what it does, but as said, it’s just to risky for me in bright or dim light, I have to use it with bad angles, and I can’t take the chance of a “gimmick” failure after time. --I spoke with Ed last week, he’s counting on WizardCraft right now, sadly he doesn’t even have an old one right now. --I’ll certainly take a long peek at the Mind Controller. I also know how it feels to sometimes “reinvent” something and have to do more research. --Last! Being the OCD perfections I am, and also a storyteller, I WAS able to write in a very plausible reason to have them put it in the case. AND I do want them to do it, not hand it off to me. I also use it as my business card case and give then one to write on keeping it in my hand so it’s there to slide in already. I really appreciate the help and thoughts and I’m going to consider all of it! Magically, Bro. Walt |

Ted Lesley justified placing their billet into his wallet, during a DD, by saying that he collected people's images for investigative purposes. The methodology went something like this if memory serves me: "Lets put this out of the way where we can't see it" (slide billet into the wallet, and start to put the wallet into your jacket pocket)"Sorry, you don't mind if I keep your image, I use them in my study of human psychology" (pause, and extend the wallet back to them and do your p**k)"No?" (put the wallet away).

That is also a good method I think,
but I'd rather not get off track. I don't really need any presentation advice at this point, I need to find the actual three fold business card case. Thanks! Walt |

I'm afraid those 3 letters SUC will not help.
If you'll read my initial post you'll see what I need, I've looked at most of the popular wallets like SUC and they won't fill the bill. Thanks for the shout out though... Walt |

For those that have a SA Wallet, I will share my way of using it that basically has the card returned to the wallet and then placed in the spectator's hand without having to re-open it. It works almost completely surrounded. Tomorrow, I will make a quick video of my handling and share it to those that have the wallet and msg me. I will not show you unless you own the wallet.
Thanks, Jamie

Hoooooray! My favorite Vampire, Vlad has come to the rescue.
He had a lovely leather Dr. Jaks Wallet from long ago. It was made by Tannen’s as the Ultimate Prediction Wallet. Vlad sent it along to me, and life (and magic) are great once again. thanks to all for your help and suggestions, Bro, Walt |
