I was in Sydney, Australia, earlier this year. They have some nice birds over there.

The crows around the Grand Canyon are way bigger than most of the ones we have around here.

The over-sized bird's nest is a part of this sculpture walk in Sydney:

I don't have a photo but I've just seen my first pair of Blue Birds in a tree behind my house.

I've lived within 30 miles of here most of my life and these are the first Blue Birds I've ever seen. I was surprised to find a pair of them.

They like to hunt bugs while I mow the lawn just like a Black Phoebe that lives here.

I live in Elk Grove CA just south of Sacramento CA.

Crows can get big. As a wee little fellow in Richland Wash. there was a Minah (?) Bird that would sit in his cage in the driveway. We would stare at that sucker as it talked and were convined a witch turned someone into that bird.

Would you consider yourself squirrely?

My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums.

I love these birds. In fact I feel blessed to live in a country where such richness of bird wildlife exists. I'll try and post some pics of some of them from Western Australia if I can in a minute.

Couple of months back, while playing dawn golf with a few buddies, we saw a kookaburra swoop down and grab a snake from the nearby bush, knock it out and fly back up onto a branch where he indulged himself and even burped afterwards....it was hilarious and astonishing at the same time!

Obviously this is quite common, as I see on youtube (thanks Woland for reminding me to look this up Smile )

I saw a very pretty blue bird the other day, not sure the type it was.

Elk Grove! I did a Gospel puppet show there and went to a Christian concert? Then I went to the dark side.

That is awesome footage Bob. Where was this? and when did you go there?

In Western Australia (believe it or not) there is a small island just off the coast (at low tide you can walk there) which has an array of native penguins. Quite unusual given the extremely warm climate. My kids adore penguins.

Most penguins are tropical and can found in South Africa and South America. I bought one while drunk...the navy wouldn't let me keep it in the bilges.

Hi Kam. Antarctica peninsula, 2010. We cruised there for 11 days. It's like a different planet down there. Glad you guys enjoyed it.

My eyes and a couple of cameras. I try to travel a light as possible. If my zoom lens can't see it, it's too far away. I'm a fan of the KISS principle. Smile
