Just want to share a quick story from a recent show:
I was booked to perform at a private event, strolling gig and a small 5 mins stage trick with the honored guest. To me, magic is a business. I'm in business to provide entertainment for my client and make everyone laugh. Two days later, my client called me and told me this: My client recieved a phone call from his friend who was at the party with his father who LOVES magic. The dad is an elderly gentlemen with Alzhiemers, communication between him and his son has been difficult the last few years as he can't seem to remember the past. But after the party, he couldn't stop talking to his son about the magic, how when they used to live in L.A. he would take his son to the magic castle to see magic shows, and some other fun memories that came up. They haven't had talks like this in years, the son was in tears relaying this story to my client... To me, I was simply doing my job. Doing my routine ... when the night is over, I got my paycheck, gig's over. Never in my life would I ever thought a simple coin trick would create so much impact for someone. Society might trivialize what we do, and sometimes we might only see magic as just work. But it doesn't have to be that way, it totally inspired me to take magic even more seriously because we never know what it can mean for someone.

You were the right guy, in the right place at the right time with the right stuff. Congrats. That's a great story to be able to tell. May we all touch people with our magic.

Well Done to you. It is easy for us to take what we do with a grain of salt, and we often forget that hwta we do can sometimes be remembered when all else is forgotten

I love hearing stories like this....good on ya brother. I quit posting stories like this because I got sick and tired of being called a liar on here by the usual suspects. Very sad indeed. Keep up the great work as you obviously mean the world to those who see ya.

Stories like that should remind us that magic does matter, in more ways than we know.

Thanks gents, I seriously still don't feel like I did anything special, I was just doing my normal set of coin routine and extreme burn
But yeah, the ripple effect is truly magical sometimes. It's moments like these that really help us from being burn out from the business side of magic. All the best to you all out there man. Make magic happen

Fantastic story !!!!! What an impact you made on these two lives. (I know you were just doing your regular set and didn't feel like you were doing anything special) BUT you did............as an aside I was entertaining a group of young girls with down syndrome at my restaurant. They were seated at one table and their mom's were seated at the next table. They did not hold back expressing their emotions which made other people in the restaurant laugh as well. What a great audience they were. They in turn brought smiles not only to their mom's but to all the surrounding tables.
Like Nash said: "But yeah, the ripple effect is truly magical sometimes." Yes, " Make magic happen "

Great story- it also begs the question, How often does this happen and you just never hear about it? Wonderful story to share.

To me, the big story here isn't what happened, it's that you were able to learn that it happened. What are the odds against THAT? I'm into old-time radio (radio shows of the 1930s and 1940s; Jack Benny and the Shadow, etc), and there are groups of fans who do "re-creations" of old radio shows, setting up mics on a stage and reading scripts, often at homes for the elderly. And it is quite common for otherwise-silent, noncommunicative residents to "wake up" and come alive while hearing these programs, remembering listening to them on the radio in their childhood days. It really brings a tear to the eye, and I'm so glad you were able to experience this.
