Just purchased this for my birthday and it is easy to set up. I have not performed this yet but will report back when I hopefully get a BIG REACTION.

This gets a huge reaction I use this all the time, gets massive reactions from the tables I perform at, the looks you get from other tables when they are going crazy is priceless! very highly recommended!

Kind of hard to describe, but here's a video link of a performance:

Wow, you get automatic applause at the end.
I try to to that with most of my close up anyway. I like this.

The Big Reaction gets your spectators involved in the magic and the routine is entertaining and engaging. Here is a link to our our review on The Big Reaction.

Looks a lot like one of my favorite effects, "Deckstress" but the method may not be the same. I like this ending too.

Great opening effect. Instead of YAYY!! I use "YEE-HAW!" given my character and location.

I'm thinking it's perhaps a diffferent presentation using a PEP deck with R&S - similar to Noman Oman - and maybe combined with something similar to the Phoenix DD using the extra t**n cards so that all cards are available in a standard box.
Note the blank backs - these probably aren't Bikes eh? Looks like a nice effect If I'm totally wrong on my guesses please don't shoot me lol.

Brett, I don't shoot you. Not at all.
But - you're completely wrong! One can make a Big Reaction deck most easily at home - it's been described in Bulletproof already, and the beauty of this effect is its simplicity. It plays very cleanly and the built-in subtlety when the card is chosen is just clever.

I've used this at a few corporate gigs recently where I'll perform a closeup effect 20-30 times in an evening. This kills, is easy to do and does indeed generate applause. Right now this is in my "top 5" list of best reviews for 2012. I love this.

Effect appears to be identical to Brainwave, which Brett notes can be done with a Phoenix double-decker. So even if the method is different, the result doesn't appear to be. The R&S on those Phoenix double-deckers leaves a bit to be desired, however -- so Brett, looking forward to your review of this.

No R&S on Big Reaction...thank goodness. It seems many such R&S decks these days are not trustworthy.

Would this be suitable for a beginner ?

Greenc77:
The trick can be performed by a beginner, but IMHO it needs to be an "opener" to an already structured act and not as a stand-alone piece to be most effective. Others may disagree, this is just my take on it. |
