A friend and I worked through this routine out of "Sonata" by Juan Tamariz. Needless to say even though we had the book in front of us, this routine totally blew us away!
Only after realizing the principle behind it (not mentioned by name but it's the Gilbreath Principle) did it all seem to make sense. If the rest of the book is anything like this effect, I am dying for the English translation. Anyone use this effect? Jeff

Hi, Jeff:
I have not added the effect to my repertoire, but I saw Tamariz do the effect at a Magic Castle lecture and he absolutely blew everyone away. By the way SONATA has been translated into English, but it is out of print and hard to locate. -Marty |

I played around with this routine at one time. It is a great routine. There are a few others in Sonata that are very good also. Great book.

Jeff,
You may want to check out my handling of this effect with only one deck. It's called "Coincidental," and can be found in my book, Great Scott! It's Card Magic! It also appeared on Visions--might still be in the card section of back issues. I have the book in English, but I wouldn't part with it. He reprints a batch every now and then. Keep your eye out!
