How do you find an appropriately-sized puppet for an adult puppeteer? Folkmanis, for example, makes many very attractive puppets, but I find that I can't get my hand into them. They seem to be designed for children only.

Steve,
Thanks for your input. I am, of course, familiar with Steve Axtell's products, I admire the Axtell puppets. They are great, especially for ventriloquism. Their faces have a great deal of anthropomorphized character. For my immediate purpose, they are to "human" and their individual characters are too well-defined. I am looking for a non-speaking animal puppet that looks very much like an animal -- or a child's teddy bear. Something along the lines of Stan Allen's Killer (rabbit), Bill Abbott's Chico (monkey) or even Harry Corbett's Sooty (bear) is what I am thinking. A puppet where the audience will think, "Aw, isn't he cute?" I am finding that most puppets made along these lines are too small for the ham-handed adult I am, and I am looking for suggestions from you folks. |

Try Lunaspuppets.com. I came across one of their puppets recently and was blown away by the quality. Then I saw the price, and was blown away again. I will be getting two of them over the summer.
